Watch/Skip+ is legitimately one of my favorite and most listened to podcasts. The movie reviews are thoughtful and researched while being balanced with off-the-cuff observations that keep the show entertaining and fun to listen to.
When it comes to this podcast, it’s always a watch! Never a skip!
Love how the host tell it like it is. Not only do you get great reviews of the latest movies but you get some insight to some other media that's come out lately with the plus. Listening sometimes feels like having those great conversations about movies with close friends, and sometimes feels like a very entertaining lesson about things you never thought about.
The hosts of this show deeply care about the subject matter. They are informed, they are funny, they are pleasant. Everything about Watch/Skip+ is a literal plus. It is a must listen for film fans of ALL genres !
A wonderful review show with creators who know their movie history. It's a great way to learn about new movies in theaters and you get a great gauge as to whether you should watch that movie or skip it. Plus, they add a little something extra from the other thinks that they like; it makes for great listening.
I have enjoyed conversations with both Jose and Justin online, on social media and in private messages, so I know their film knowledge is wide and varied. Coming together for a podcast is a great move, as they work really well together. It’s just a shame that the emphasis seems to be on the latest releases, meaning I often have to delay listening until I can get the films watched myself first (because I do hate hearing spoilers before seeing a film).

Two film critics with a lifestyle angle review current releases and then wrap up with a bonus “Plus” segment that can cover anything—from other media to pop culture tangents. Episodes lean into spoiler-filled takes, nuanced debates about performances, direction, and genre, and playful banter that blends film culture with personal anecdotes. Noteworthy traits include a bold, opinionated review style, frequent references to festivals and industry context, and a willingness to bring in guests or external perspectives to broaden the conversation. The show is likely to appeal to listeners who want frank, spoiler-aware cinephile commentary with a relatable, buddy-cop energy and occasional off-topic dives that feel like a conversation with friends... more
