我们的节目之所以叫《王府井一号》，是因为它首先是一串真实的门牌号——嘉德艺术中心的地理坐标。这里位于皇城根下、故宫之东，是北京最核心的一环。几百年来，这片土地曾先后容纳过王府、官邸、私家园林与文化机构，功能不断更替，却始终在城市格局中占据着稳固的位置。
今天走在王府井，映入眼帘的是商场、灯光与人流；而只要放慢脚步，就会发现另一层正在悄然呼吸的城市肌理：旧院落被重新点亮，围墙的边界被温柔地保留下来，曾经属于权力与私密的空间，渐渐转化为向公众开放的文化场所。
