Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Building on the American Heritage Series - Politics in the Pulpit
Q: Should I not be voting based on that biblical view of each of those issues?
Pastors should help congregants align their voting with biblical principles across various issues, not just those that are commonly discussed such as abortion and marriage.
Building on the American Heritage Series - Politics in the Pulpit
Q: Jesus didn't seem to spend much time talking about government or politics in his time. What about my pastor?
Jesus engaged with political leaders and their policies, and pastors today should likewise address political issues that intersect with biblical teachings.
Building on the American Heritage Series - Politics in the Pulpit
Q: Shouldn't pastors keep their focus on the church and not on politics?
Pastors are seen as ministers of God in both civil and spiritual duties, and should engage with societal issues, integrating their faith into all areas of life.
Building on the American Heritage Series - Politics in the Pulpit
Q: Aren't pastors now supposed to stay out of politics?
While historically, pastors played a significant role in politics, it is a misconception that they should remain apolitical; the First Amendment protects their right to express their faith and speak on societal issues.
Building on the American Heritage Series - Changing a State and a Generation
Q: Most families in my church either homeschool or go to private school. Why should we even bother with the public school textbook process?
88% of the nation's students go through public school, and those who rule over us often come from public education. It's crucial to ensure they receive the right history and knowledge, whether or not your kids are in public school.
