In addition to his famous classics of horror and science fiction, H.P. Lovecraft wrote tens of thousands of fascinating letters. In each episode Sean Branney and Andrew Leman of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society read one of those letters and then discuss it.

In what may be our last episode, we explore two letters: one from early in HPL's life and one from near the end. We reflect on what we've learned over a multi-year deep dive into HPL's letters and what it means to a be a Lovecraft fan.
In which a letter from HPL to Clark Ashton Smith is dissected by Sean, Andrew and our special guest hosts: Chris Lackey and Chad Fifer of the podcast Strange Studies of Strange Stories. It's an episode brimming with weird tales, and of course, cats.

Informative, intelligent, intriguing. I've been a fan of Lovecraft's fiction for most of my life, and this podcast gives a great insight into the man behind the stories, for good and bad.
I love everything that HPL wrote and everything you guys produce! Keep it coming!

Illuminating, occasionally frustrating or disappointing because of Lovecraft's backward views on so many topics, but never boring and always full of great knowledge to learn and share.
Branney & Leman, the hosts of this podcast, have an easy rapport with one another that probably means it would be interesting to hear them talk about anything. The thing that they talk here about happens to be Lovecraft, early Twentieth Century American history, politics, popular culture and publishing (and you do have to enjoy the letter reading itself, which is the meat of each episode) but this certainly isn't a show just for "horror fans". And, as a matter of fact, the podcast is only occasi... more
