  • What happened?

What the heck happened to this podcast? It used to have substantial episodes with great insight, now it’s superficial takes delivered in 3 minute sound bites? Bring back the old format.

  • Great SEO show!

I listen to Voices of Search regularly and enjoy the episodes - particularly because they’re insightful but not too long. 20/30 minutes is ideal for me!

  • Too long, too often, too much wasted time

There is some SEO content and news of value here and it was fine when it posted daily 12 minute posts I could forgive it’s bloat. Now it’s often 25/30 minutes with additional ads.

Here’s how I listen to this. 2x speed. Skip the first 3.5 minutes which is all intro and ads. They sneak ‘one minute’ of ads halfway through at random. It is always 2 minutes so I skip 2 minutes and if I miss the start of the next question I mumble ‘we’ll that’s on you’. Then it ends with 2.5 minutes left. Can’t tell... more

  • Great experience as a guest!

I recently was a guest on the Voices of Search Podcast and it was a fantastic experience. The team was highly professional, communicated clearly every step of the way and arrived on time for the podcast recording. During the recording, they asked insightful and thought-provoking questions, and also gave me an opportunity to promote my new book. The finished product was edited professionally and the podcast team did their work promoting the episode. My guest spot definitely helped drive interest ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The biggest misconception marketers have about how AI models surface content
Q: What's the biggest misconception that you're seeing with marketers about how these AI systems are surfacing content?
The guest explains that many people wrongly assume AI models truly understand their reasoning; in reality, the models are black boxes with limitations, leading to a high rate of inaccuracies and misinterpretations about how content is surfaced.
Blocking LLMs from proprietary data?
Q: What are your thoughts on blocking LLMs from proprietary data?
The guest emphasizes that the level of proprietariness matters; if data is truly proprietary and you don't want it scraped or crawled, it should not be accessible in the first place, implying strong controls on data visibility to prevent leakage.
The most important data source for enterprise SEO teams in 2026
Q: If you could make an enterprise team focus on just one data source in 2026, what would that be?
Kaspar emphasizes Google Search Console as the indispensable data source for enterprise SEO due to its direct insight into how Google perceives data, even though it has delays and occasional hiccups. The gist is that GSC should be the core starting point, with a preference to supplement it with additional data sources as needed.
The clearest sign your content is invisible to LLM bots
Q: What is the clearest sign that a company's content is invisible to an LLM bot?
The clearest signal is poor readability, which they quantify with a readability score and an Everything Audit that analyzes universal signals, HTML signals, discovery, and how content renders for bots.
One thing every enterprise website needs to change tomorrow
Q: If you could change one thing on every enterprise website tomorrow, what would it be?
The guest suggests implementing a 'cash' version of the site optimized for search bots to improve crawlability and understanding by search engines, rather than solely focusing on the human experience.
