Very Random Encounter is a brillant podcast. Let me tell you why it is so close to my heart. In my RPG life, there are three events that drastically changed the way I practice TTRPG: listening to VRE was the second one. I "learned" TTRPG with AD&D, Star Wars 1st edition and Warhammer, and for a long time I didn't know any different ways of playing. VRE made me discover one totally opposite to mine.
VRE initial principle is simple: generate everything randomly. It includes charactes, names and e... more
I love this podcast. I’ve been listening to years now and adore it. I download arcs and listen to them through my long drives in the mountains. At this point they cast feel like road trip companions to me, hearing them laugh and make jokes let’s my journey be 10x more enjoyable. I love how all the seasons are so different and they’ve introduced me to a lot of new and awesome ttrpgs. I’m always looking forward to a new episode from this crew.
I love the making something cool and funny out of all the randomly determined stuff. Love the creativity from having to make something up that makes sense from all the non-sensical.
So much fun :-) The cast are great storytellers and take on all kinds of games.
Each season, they take the raw chaos provided by the RNG and forge it into gripping stories with heart. A real treat!
(Bonus: The podcast theme music is awesome and always lifts my spirits.)
Thank you all! Makes my day to listen to friends playing ttrpgs. 🤗🫀
