Have you every wondered what it’s like to fly a seaplane? Or what it takes to fly around the remote Australian outback? Aeromedical flying? How on earth do pilots in Australia make it to jobs that are in?
The best general aviation podcast that I’ve been listening to recently. I’m up to episode 5 and it’s made my commute the best part of my work day (And I love my job). Great to see a well produced AUSTRALIAN aviation podcast! If you are looking up at the sky every time a plane flies overhead, ... more
Well done on the launch of a second season!
Australia needed a good aviation podcast and Chris Frangou delivers.
He’s very humble about it, but Chris is also a world-class musician, and that’s where his unique gifts tie together. Exercising an insatiable curiosity for aviation and a strong background in sound and audio, he’s gone straight to the source and recorded it, believe me - there are some MASSIVE names in the first season alone.

My son always chews my ears off about different aircrafts and their attributes and although I love his excitement and his keen ability to be explain what he’s learning. Thanks to Chris and his guests now I’m finding out more about what my son is interested in and have the ability to guide my teen to follow his interests.
Now that I’m learning about some of the journeys I can be a better career guide for my kids. Maybe my daughter will end up in flight school!
Also great interview skills and ... more
Good if you’re interested in aviation but it’s not a nerd fest - you can hear about the guests journey through aviation and in 10 episodes you can see there’s many roads to take - excellent lockdown listening! Chris has that rare skill to get out of the way and let the guest tell their story.
I had a few hours to spare as I headed down the highway and found your pod casts. I was very impressed with your interviews and the people that you had chosen to interview. Your interviewer skills was great and I enjoyed listening your guests
This podcast is only 4 episodes old, but I’m already hooked! Excellent local aussie content and interviews from some genuine aussie aviation icons. Well done, looking forward to the next one!
This podcast fulfills the dream of exploring the outback of Australia by flying yourself. What adventures await us in wonderful Australia?
Well we can’t fly, but we can listen to those who made flying a career. I remember going into the cockpit of a 747, 45 years ago when we emigrated to Australia from the UK. I also remember the tiny plastic salt and pepper shakers we got with every meal. I was 5.
I love this podcast and the passion behind it, from both the presenter and the guests. Such a special thing: to fly around the world, and something we took for granted. Hopefully one day we’ll get the chance again. In the meantime: you h... more
Love your interviewing style. Really interesting guests and like all great interviewers, you let their stories shine instead of talking over the top.

Not usually a follower of anything aircraft I was told about this podcast from a friend. I found it informative and entertaining, I like the way it covered the personal aspects of flying, the environmental impacts with the discussion on electric planes. Well done I am hooked.
Up and Away has easily become my favorite Podcast. There is no other Podcast that covers the diverse and broad field that is Australian aviation as Chris on Up and Away does. His interviewing skills are top notch and so are his guests! Looking forward to every new episode. Thank you!
I’m not even much of an aviationist but found this show to be thoroughly interesting. I’m glad the show focusses on the future of aviation and important topics such as its environmental imprint and access to aviation industries for all types of students. I’m keen to see how they continue to include issues such as the environment, diversity and access at the forefront of this new show celebrating the Australian aviation industry and the uniquely Australian stories, that ultimately interconnect wi... more
I found the interview very interesting, moving the interview from a student pilot perspective to electric aviation was fascinating. I especially enjoyed the conversation about electric aviation. The whole podcast didn’t feel like an interview but more like 2 mates having a conversation. Well done I’m hooked.
Even if you are not an aviation buff you will find this podcast informative and entertaining. Chris lets his guests do the talking and like a good interviewer guides and prompts gently and unobtrusively. I look forward to the next episode.
