  • Authentic voices

I scrambled to find podcasts when the war in Ukraine began. This was one of them. Others included a BBC podcast, but one by one I unsubscribed to all but Ukraine Without Hype. The others were - imo - somewhat slick and artificial and in one case overly sentimental. UWH is what I consider to be authentic on-the-ground reporting that is also engaging. I like both hosts and how seamlessly they co-host. I like their voices too. I often listen multiple times. I highly recommend this podcast. I’ve lea... more

  • Excellent interview with journalist Olga Tokariuk on the Maidan

Journalist and scholar Olga Tokariuk gives a great first hand account of the developments in the Maidan protests, the brutal repression from the Yanukovych regime that led to the eventual revolution against him, and the Russian invasion that followed. I’ve heard many good episodes from this podcast, often dealing with very current events in Ukraine. A good one to keep in your favorites list and check in on frequently.
