  • Superb insights

Great hosts and guests, good length and really informative. It does seem to be a bit pessimistic towards Russia - I hope this is well founded, but sometimes wander if it portrays the full story. Obviously this is hard to achieve anyway. Strongly recommended.

  • Great Hosts, Great Guests, Excellent Podcast

**Update** Please fix this podcast so I can get it on Apple Podcasts instead of having to go elsewhere to listen to it. It is still

One of my favorites but for some reason hardly gets loaded into Apple Podcasts anymore.

This is one of my favorite podcasts too to learn more about the “10 day, military operation by Russia“ or just the most up to date information on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. If Geopolitical issues are your thing, it’s a must listen!

  • Excellent review of the current situation. I really applauded Major General Chapman's observation that one of the reasons that the Kerch Bridge has not been blown up recently is to allow some of the 2 million Russian inhabitants (military and civian) to flee from Crimea (Sun Tzu's Golden Bridge reference). I have wondered why this is either not obvious or not deliberately mentioned in the American press in my experience! And thank you too, Phillip!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

‘Knuckleheads’ Witkoff and Kushner’s Kyiv visit was ‘embarrassing’ | Lt Gen Ben Hodges
Q: What's your reading of what's gone on there?
The guest suggests the Kiev visit delivered little positive impact, implying the maneuvering by Witkoff and Kushner served Kremlin messaging and did not force meaningful leverage or strategic gains for Ukraine.
Putin suffers major operational blows in Fortress Belt and Kinburn Spit | Maj. Gen. Chip Chapman
Q: What role do Western sanctions and political signals play in the strategic trajectory of the conflict?
Sanctions, alliance cohesion, and potential negotiations risks influence the war's duration and intensity by shaping Russia's economic capacity and Western willingness to sustain support for Ukraine.
Putin suffers major operational blows in Fortress Belt and Kinburn Spit | Maj. Gen. Chip Chapman
Q: How does air superiority influence ongoing drone and missile warfare, and what does that imply for both sides?
Air superiority underpins freedom of movement and targeting, but decentralized drone operations and counter-drone measures are leveling the playing field, making control over the airspace a crucial but not sole determinant of outcomes.
Putin suffers major operational blows in Fortress Belt and Kinburn Spit | Maj. Gen. Chip Chapman
Q: What is the tactical significance of the Kinburn Spit and the Lyman operation in the context of Ukraine's fortress belt?
They are shaping the battlefield by constraining Russian operational mobility and delaying their ability to reconfigure lines, while giving Ukraine room to maneuver and sustain their fortress-city strategy for 2026.
'Putin is completely mad' | Anna Zafesova
Q: What is the mood in Russia regarding Putin's leadership according to people you spoke with?
There is a broad consensus that Putin is crazy and that the economy is suffering severely, creating a sense that the current leadership has outlived its usefulness, though there is no clear, peaceful mechanism to remove him.
