  • Trump derangement syndrome

Today’s host Missed a great opportunity to have an objective report. The report started out decidedly negative dismissing the potential merit of any engagement with Syria in this terrible conflict. The reporter does not need to tell me how to think. The reporter needs to report the situation and if it’s bad for the president of the United States so be it. But an option should not be discarded just because someone who is distasteful to this particular host of the program today.. please be more ... more

  • Rather biased

Essentially every justification they use in defense of Ukraine on this show's sister pod they fail to apply to Israel. This show is mostly a string of nebulous anti Israel polemics.

  • Informative, but..::

…ditch the sneering American woman. The constant “up talk” Mean Girls-esque sarcastic tone of voice and barely disguised contempt whenever she mentions Trump is irritating, immature and off-putting. The English woman is only slightly better tbh, but she mostly keeps a lid on it

  • Sober and intriguing exploration of the topic. I looked around for a good meaty, discussion on Iran and couldn't find anything decent... Until now.

  • Axel Springer Clearly Impacted Tone

Since the acquisition of the telegraph by ultra conservative german conglomerate axel springer, the tone of this show has become markedly partisan in Trump’s favor. In the first month of the war there was a lot more coverage of the incoherence of the US’s decision to enter the war and the absence of any true value system motivating american foreign policy; they mainly interviewed israeli and american military and iranian pahlavists, but asked them cogent questions that help sketch a picture of t... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Iran’s Trump ‘assassination plot’ revealed & America’s ‘protection racket’
Q: You've called this protection racket framing. Can you explain why?
The guests explain that high-level pressure and public messaging around alliance burden-sharing appeared aimed at a domestic audience, while substantive discussions behind closed doors focus on military capabilities and regional security needs, arguing for a more balanced and fact-based approach to force posture.
Trump’s five-hour blitz triggers Iran war escalation & Mossad’s secret plot exposed
Q: How did interagency dynamics influence the handling of this operation?
There was clear tension between Mossad and military intelligence, with senior figures ultimately questioning the plan's premises; this internal friction highlights how competing assessments can derail high-risk ambitions, even when a political leader wants action.
Trump’s five-hour blitz triggers Iran war escalation & Mossad’s secret plot exposed
Q: Was the Mossad plan ever a realistic path to regime change in Iran?
Based on the published reporting, it was a highly ambitious and speculative plan that faced significant internal opposition and questions about feasibility; it did not have broad support within the security establishment and was halted.
Trump’s five-hour blitz triggers Iran war escalation & Mossad’s secret plot exposed
Q: What would you have advised if you were asked to evaluate the Kurdish invasion component of the plan?
I would have stressed the core flaw: even if Kurdish forces could cross borders, the regime in Tehran would still be in place, and there were insufficient internal conditions to sustain such an uprising; plus, the broader strategic goals remained unclear and risky.
‘Bitter, weak and corrupted’: How Ali Khamenei ruined Iran
Q: How did Khamenei consolidate power early in his leadership?
Ansari explains that he built alliances with key figures like Rafsanjani, expanded control through institutions such as the IRGC and SETAD, and used strategic parliamentary intervention to block reforms, which established a pattern of centralized authority.
