  • Enjoy It But Have Some Questions

I really enjoy this podcast and the sharp analysis and variety of guests. But it does seem to have a definite pro-Iran, pro-China, anti-US slant. The hosts and guests sometimes appear to have a certain glee in recounting what they see as a series of catastrophic failures on the part of the US. Aside from the fact that much of current media seems to be in the business of rushing to judgment and reaching premature conclusions, my understanding of journalism is that it should aspire to present the ... more

  • Biased

As others have said, the hosts of the Iran: the Latest podcast wear their biases on their sleeve, leading to some tedious and uninformative pods. The episode with the arts therapist in Lebanon was excruciating to listen to.

  • Anti-Semitic Reporters, Anti-Semitic Focus

The Telegraph is so good about the Ukraine War but they only seem to have contempt for Israel. Israel is attacked and suddenly we need a ceasefire! How much of Hamas’s propaganda is being repeated here? Only good to know what British anti-semites think. There is no anti-Hamas voices here. Just Anti-Israeli bias and racism to Jews.

They talk to doctors complaining about gun shot victims with no context that these are Hamas fighters who raped young girls. They should be shot and doctors complain... more

  • Trump derangement syndrome

Today’s host Missed a great opportunity to have an objective report. The report started out decidedly negative dismissing the potential merit of any engagement with Syria in this terrible conflict. The reporter does not need to tell me how to think. The reporter needs to report the situation and if it’s bad for the president of the United States so be it. But an option should not be discarded just because someone who is distasteful to this particular host of the program today.. please be more ... more

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

US strikes IRGC bases & what the Iran war means for China invading Taiwan
Q: Specifically with Iran, what has China been doing to support Iran through this conflict and what has it not been doing?
The discussion notes that China has supplied Iran with weapons in some reports, contributed satellite imagery for targeting, and engaged in energy and economic cooperation, but remains cautious about provoking a broader conflict with the United States, balancing neutrality with pragmatic backing.
US strikes IRGC bases & what the Iran war means for China invading Taiwan
Q: Can you talk us through China's strategy with global forums like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and what tangible support it's offering to countries like Iran?
Tsang explains that China uses the UN-centric and SCO framework to promote a Sinocentric order, provide political backing to Iran, and offer economic and strategic support, all while maintaining a posture of careful neutrality that still favors its strategic interests and reduces exposure to secondary sanctions from the US.
US strikes IRGC bases & what the Iran war means for China invading Taiwan
Q: Steve, I just want to start with quite a broad question. I want you to take us inside the head of Xi, someone you know better than most other people.
Tsang describes Xi as a forward planner who seeks to reshape the international order through the 'democratization' of relations, leveraging the Global South and multilateral forums like the SCO, while preparing for a long-term horizon that centers China's preeminence and strategic patience around Taiwan.
Trump vows 'economic D-Day' as US jets escort oil tankers through Hormuz
Q: What is the significance of Trump's economic D-Day as described on the show?
The host and guest frame it as a major coercive move intended to pressure Iran economically, linking it to a broader strategy of sanctions and pressure rather than immediate military action, while noting the lack of detailed disclosure from US officials.
UAE cuts Iran’s economic lifeline after ‘ballistic missile strikes’
Q: Can you talk us through where the tiered internet is now within Iran? How cemented is this and how the connectivity situation is within the country?
Connectivity remains severely constrained; while some elites had initial access to tiered internet, broader use is still expensive and unreliable. The regime continues to control information flow, with VPNs and domestic networks playing a critical role for ordinary Iranians to access essential services and diaspora channels.
