On the night of January 23rd 2006, Jennifer Kesse spoke to her boyfriend before going to bed. She set out her clothes for work. She went to sleep. And then she vanished. Jennifer was 24 years old. Independent. Smart. Safety conscious. She would never... more
This story begins with a question that plagued investigators, doctors, and a jury: how did the life of an infant end, and how can we tell who was responsible when science and the law collide? In the hours, days, and years after Garrett Michael Wilson... more
Please listen to this re-release of a 2021 members-only episode about sudden infant infant deaths which were determined to be homicide. We will be covering another SIDS v. Homicide case in May and I think listening to this episode is a good prequel! more
In May of 2005, a quiet part of rural Ohio woke up to something no one was prepared for. By the time most people finished their morning coffee, six people were dead, one teenage girl was barely alive, and a town that thought it understood itself was ... more

The banter between the two hosts was awkward and not engaging at all. The man kept getting ahead of the story, not allowing for the story line to unfold well. He spoke in a very monotone voice and I legitimately fell asleep within 10 min. If I hadn’t been genuinely interested in this specific case I wouldn’t have gone back to re-listen, but it was tough to get through. The personal disgust the hosts showed for the Mormon faith was apparent and off putting.
This is another of my favourite podcasts. Well researched and enjoy the interplay between Jill and Dick. Highly recommended
“This podcast is making me thirsty.”
I like the idea behind the podcast. I tried to listen to this podcast multiple times to give it a fair shot. I do not like the tone she uses; it doesn't flow well. Sounds like an inexperienced reader reading line by line from a paper versus a professional storyteller. Voice goes up at the end of sentences and soundstight. They are not pleasant-sounding for a podcast. They do a great job of detailing the story and researching. I think they should write for the podcast, but not be the voice behind... more
I couldn’t get through a whole episode. I tried three times to get through an episode. Very boring very dry. Nobody wants to hear a beer being poured. Nobody cares about the long clause is about a beer being poured. Nobody cares about your personal views of old terminology. Little bit too political.

A thorough true crime discussion duo blends meticulous case research with conversational banter and occasional beer references. Episodes balance deep dives into historic cases with courtroom and forensic context, plus a recurring focus on the human dynamics behind each story. Listeners probably value well-sourced storytelling, critical analysis of investigations, and a relaxed, personable hosting style. A notable angle is the hosts' willingness to weave medical, legal, and investigative threads into a cohesive narrative, sometimes drawing on broader cultural and societal implications. This mix likely appeals to listeners who enjoy long-form case explorations with thoughtful commentary rather than sensationalism.
