  • Meh at best…

I wish I could unlisten to this podcast for it has left me dumber from having heard it.

In general the podcast is Journalistically lacking the nuance and context required of a decent conversation.

  • A must listen for Men and Women

I am a 49 year old man with two daughters and I learn so much from Timmerie. Excellent relationship advice, dating, and even periods. I shared the March 3, 2023 episode Female Hacks with both of my daughters. All dads should listen to that episode. Thank you Timmerie and may God bless you and your family!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

From Control to Trust, From Passivity to Purpose
Q: Why is it common for husbands to become passive in marriage, and how can they embrace responsibility?
Passivity often stems from childhood experiences of being controlled and a fear of making mistakes; recovery involves recognizing the fear, embracing imperfect action, and stepping into leadership in a supportive, collaborative way rather than rigid control.
How sex became cheap
Q: Mark, what has been the biggest societal shift in dating and marriage since the 1960s?
The biggest shift has been the societal normalization of contraception and the subsequent detachment of sex from procreation, which altered the perceived value of children within marriage and opened up the dating market in ways that favor casual connections over long-term commitments.
Courage, Boldness & the Oscars
Q: What can modern Catholic leaders learn from St. Patrick's approach to evangelization?
St. Patrick shows that bold, culture-facing leadership—meeting people where they are, enduring hardships, and uniting diverse tribes under a common faith—can transform entire communities when done with a spirit of love and truth.
Detangling a child from a trans identity
Q: How do you address detransitioner narratives with a child who is still exploring their identity?
She cautions against using detransitioner stories as a direct model, noting they can be triggering and may undermine a child's self-image; instead, she recommends focusing on cognitive dissonance cues and long-term implications, and presenting a balanced view that acknowledges feelings without pushing a fixed identity.
Detangling a child from a trans identity
Q: Can you walk us through how your approach develops a child's sense of self without immediately affirming a transgender identity?
Stephanie explains that the process starts with understanding temperament and family dynamics, identifying what gives the child a sense of purpose and strength, and then engaging with the child in a way that validates their experiences while guiding them to explore a more durable sense of self centered on character and real-life strengths.
