  • So relevant these days!

Bob Cesca has one of my favorite podcasts. (My favorite is the Professional Left, but Bob is a close second). He'd worked with Mary Trump whom I've followed for some time for what should be obvious reasons.

And my wife and I are trekkies...to a degree.

So I'm glad this discussion is back. The stories are relevant, can be applied to today's political nightmare, so I powerfully recommend this podcast!

When Star Trek Took On America’s War Crimes | "A Private Little War" (TOS)
Q: What do you think about Nona's character and her motivations?
Nona appears as a Machiavellian figure with her own agenda, trying to manipulate Kirk and Tyree into intervention.
When Star Trek Took On America’s War Crimes | "A Private Little War" (TOS)
Q: How did you interpret Kirk's decision at the end regarding providing arms to the Hill people?
I interpreted it as Kirk proceeding with it but having enough self-awareness to realize it was potentially the worst of two terrible options.
Star Trek's Most Poweful Episode with Actor Spencer Garrett | "The Drumhead" (TNG)
Q: Can I say one thing about Jonathan?
He's an actor who genuinely loves actors and he's a director who really loves actors and actors love working with him.
Star Trek's Most Poweful Episode with Actor Spencer Garrett | "The Drumhead" (TNG)
Q: So Spencer, how does it feel to be asked about a role you played 34 years ago?
I love it. It's wonderful and I literally get recognized for that particular role on that show more than any other thing that I've ever done.
Mike Sussman on the Politics of 'Star Trek United' and 'Enterprise' | "Detained" (ENT)
Q: How do you make the calculation between drama and message?
It's a constant struggle to balance that in storytelling; if the message is too present, entertainment can suffer, but finding an entertaining way to convey a deeper message can make the narrative more impactful.
