100 Countries In 50 Years
Q: Why count to 100 countries at all?
The count began as a personal milestone driven by a curiosity about borders and the idea that borders are a social construct; the goal evolved into a framework for reflecting on travel, culture, and power dynamics rather than a rigid list.
100 Countries In 50 Years
Q: What counts as a country and what counts as a visit?
A visit is defined as actually setting foot in the country, being stamped, and having done something there; countries are counted based on sovereign status and practical independence, though edge cases like territories and breakaway states complicate the count.
V's First Time Abroad As An Adult
Q: Why did you decide to take your first flight after so long, and what prompted it now?
The decision was influenced by a combination of personal motivation and a push from a collaborator; the guest wanted to show that travel could be approached progressively and that mentorship and shared experiences can reignite a desire to explore.
