  • Really insightful!

I’ve typically never been into podcasts, however upon finding training and tangents, that has now changed. I’ve been a 1-1 PT for 4 years and I wanted to outsource and listen to different perspectives on aspects on training, nutrition, injuries etc. and I’ve found exactly what I was hoping to! They both articulate their thoughts and perspectives in manners which are coherent and meaningful alongside added humour which is always a bonus. Looking forwards to the episodes to come! Q: Would you rather have telekinesis or telepathy, and how does that reflect your approach to training?

Episode #11 - Injury, Exploration & Physical Freedom - Tom's story
Q: What makes you different from other coaches?
Tom highlights his emphasis on enjoyment, sustainability, and a balanced, dimmer-switch approach to training that adapts to life stages and client needs, rather than an all-or-nothing mindset.
Episode #11 - Injury, Exploration & Physical Freedom - Tom's story
Q: Where did your mindset of physical freedom come from, especially during tough rehab periods?
Tom describes how injuries and a long rehab journey taught him to focus on what he can do, use training to reset his mood, and maintain momentum with a flexible approach that fits life, family, and ongoing activity.
Episode #11 - Injury, Exploration & Physical Freedom - Tom's story
Q: So let's kick off the first question, what parts of Tom's story might someone miss if they only knew him as a coach today?
Tom explains that there's a long arc beyond coaching, including his early days as a player, the injuries that forced him to rethink training, and how those experiences shaped a philosophy centered on recovery, resilience, and purposeful, enjoyable training.
Episode #19 - Q&A - Strength for Endurance, Shoulders and Why You're Not Wasting Your Time
Q: What's more important, calories or protein?
The answer depends on the goal, but for fat loss you want a calorie deficit while ensuring sufficient protein to preserve muscle; for most goals, both matter, with calories providing the bigger influence on weight changes and protein supporting muscle retention and repair.
