This show blends all of my favorite things and it helps me to learn so much more about my favorite movies in a fun way!
This podcast is an ideal listen for anyone who is a fan of extreme and punk music and extreme and cult movies. Many familiar names from many awesome bands talking about their personal favorite horror films in every detail. Providing me with immense hours of entertainment on commutes and exposing me to a bunch of new movies and music.
Mikey is the dude. Solid interviewing with spooky vibes. 👻
I was historically never super into horror (or indeed movies at all!), but this podcast has caused me to dive deeper into the genre. Great guests, great questions, great framework that allows for a lot of variety in subject matter while still fitting into the overall theme.
Michael has cool guests and gives a really good interview!! Love this pod!!
As someone who lovesss horror movies, I’m always trying to find new ones that I haven’t heard of before. This podcast always delivers with new content and options to fulfill my horror desire. Mixed with laughs and music, what’s not to love? Also love when Eric is a guest, always a fun time!
I’ve been a fan of Toxic Schlock since last October. I discovered Mike Kent’s show from Instagram, from Tim McMahon of Mouthpiece’s page, who is known for being a horror fan, particularly Halloween; after the first episode I was hooked; dark synth, for added effect. Being also a massive hardcore, punk and metal fan, his combined focus on interviewing musicians from the aforementioned scenes, and in his depth interviews with what got them into the genre, their experiences were something that I co... more
This podcast has/does a few things that I love:
- great host
- great guests
- teaches me stuff about films I love that I didn’t already know
- teaches me stuff about musicians I love that I didn’t already know
Generally just an interesting podcast and it makes me wonder why it hadn’t been done sooner.
Give it a listen
Punk/metal and horror mix so well and it’s just amazing hearing some of my favorite musicians rap about horror movies.
Awesome conversations about horror movies and heavy music. Don’t have to be a metal head to enjoy this. Let the binge begin!
But seriously though, this show takes two of my personal loves and marries them together pretty well. Looking forward to seeing what other high profile guests end up on the pod!
Normally I am not one to sing praises for a new show, but this was a really enjoyable start to a promising series. The marriage of aggressive music and horror film is one that not often talked about, so this was a breath of fresh air.
Great first episode! Very cool to hear people taking two artforms regularly relegated to the genre bin seriously for a change. Also a stellar choice for the theme music My only complaint is I need more groan-line puns, but I'm sure more are coming in the future.
Michael gives a hell of an interview. First episode was strong and demonstrates a skid commitment to substance. I’ve never liked fanboy podcasts and this pod seems to be level headed abs substantive.
