A podcast devoted to the proper care and upkeep of tarantulas and other inverts. After keeping a G. porteri for over 16 years, I decided that I wanted to add another tarantula to my collection. Several years later, I now keep over 100 specimens and 90+ different species. It’s safe to say that I am now completely addicted to the hobby.I’m NOT an expert, and I’m currently still learning about keepin... more

As I've spent more time keeping tarantulas, I've realized that questions "what is a good beginner species?" and "what is a good species to raise as a first time sling? have two very different answers. Just because a species is easier to care for as ... more
How do you know when you’re getting too many tarantulas? How can you tell when you’re reaching what should be your limit? more
I've encountered this scenario many times...an upset keeper emails me to ask what he did wrong because his adult female didn't make it to the supposed max life expectancy. In many cases, it sounds like the animal died of natural causes, but the thou... more

I absolutely love this podcast. If you are like me, you can listen to Tom talk about tarantulas all day. Tom is the best source for advice about taking care of arachnids and I recommend this podcast all the time.
I have watched almost every youtube video from Tom I always go to Tom to learn about a new species thst I’m interested in before I get them. Tom had great videos on just about everything in the hobby. I just got in to listening to podcasts (I know I’m late to the game)… I am learning more then I ever thought listening. Thank you Tom and billie for what you do for the hobby.
I am a frequent podcast listener. There’s not very many times where I say to myself “I need to go rate this person 5 stars so more people can find this” but this podcast has made me feel this way. I keep all kinds of creatures and the internet isn’t always a reliable source. Have really enjoyed getting my information from Tom, tarantula kat and the Tarantula collective. Specially this podcast with all the new stuff I’ve learned!
Tom is a wonderful source of knowledge about Tarantulas and true spiders. I love that he does this as a passion instead of monetizing everything. Every episode I learn something or come away with a different perspective.
Really enjoy having a tarantula podcast to listen to. I especially loved the one with your wife and the one with Luis. I hope you’ll have more guests but I enjoy every episode 😊
