I’ve been listening to TWiR for about 3-4 years now. I never miss an episode. It’s a great way to keep up with all things retro. The hosts are great to listen to and it’s an excellent set up, as they live in different parts of the world so the discussion is nice and balanced.
Great guests too.
TWIR is a highlight of every weekend. It takes you back to a time without responsibilities, 24 hour marketing, micro transactions and data collecting. It’s like a having a very knowledgeable group of mates talking about games you used to play and the culture surrounding them. The news and interviews with hobbyists help keep you up to date with what’s going on in retro tech to make going back and playing the games of your past easier or with a different perspective. Highly recommended.
Being on the advanced side of my 40s, this fantastic podcast speaks directly to my computing generation. This appearing on a Saturday morning makes my weekend. My first computer was an Acorn Electron, followed by an Atari ST and then PCs, with a slew of game consoles during and since. It isn’t just nostalgia though, the hosts Dave, Jason and Chris are superb company and their infectious enthusiasm has opened my eyes to many retro machines and projects I was not even aware of. Excellent stuff.
TWIR is always a highlight of the week. The enthusiasm is infectious and the hosts strike the right balance between nerdy and fun, always with a wry sense of humour. Thank you all for the huge amount of every you all put into making this such a special thing. Happy 50th Duncan! :)
This week in retro has become part of my Saturday routine and is something I look forward to every weekend.
The hosts past and present feel like good friends and ambassadors of the retro computing community.
Huge kudos to the team for all your efforts and here’s hoping that TWIR continues far into the future.
