Preroll ads, then hosts open show up with ads. The first half are retro news stories, but are mostly nonretro things to buy, so more ads. Then an ad break and the guest. This show has fallen way off in recent years.

So grateful that you’re able to bring on your podcast the software and game developers who entertained for months and years as we finally get to listen to how sound and how they shaped our childhood gaming and Amiga days, it’s a great inspiration for me as a seasonal developer.

  • Timeless interviews

Great hosts and the interviews are often with game designers and developers who clearly love to share what they’ve worked on and give insights about how game development worked back in the earlier days. If not for this podcast we’d likely never hear these stories.

  • Longtime listener. Thinking about writing this for ages. Still a fan who listens occasionally just for the gaming history interviews which are usually informative & engaging, but I'm largely frustrated by the excessive use of filler words from the three co-hosts that get pretty distracting and annoying. HUNDREDS of times becomes unprofessional. I agree with the other criticisms. Frankly, this is why I unsubscribed from their Patreon after briefly trying it, and I even got their Kickstarter book!... more
