  • Where is Marco?!

    Where is Marco?

The writing out/removal of all the male broadcasters is toxic and very offensive.

Women may be just as good, but they have different points of view and emphasis.

If you don't have any male radio news presenters, you lose that valuable point of view.

It is toxic, and offensive, biased and wrong if it is only females or teams presenting the news.

  • The best

Without a doubt one of the best sources of global news. Always great reporting on a wide variety of topics, including all the most pressing world events. I listen to a lot of news and foreign affairs podcasts, but this is my favorite and the most straightforwardly useful for keeping up-to-date with what’s going on beyond our borders.

Have you ever sat down and wished aloud, “gee, why can’t I just directly listen to the verbatim copy of acceptable public discourse as issued by the US State Department?” Look no further! Danny and Derek what the hell are you shilling this drivel for

  • Nothing like describing genocide happening before your eyes in one breath and chatting about sportsball in another. "Daddy, what were you doing when the fascists took over?" "I made sure to 'balance' my news coverage, honey."

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Pope Leo apologizes for Catholic Church's past support for slavery
Q: Do you think the apology is broad enough, does it encompass enough, and what more would you like to see from the Church on this history?
The guest argues that while the apology is significant, it should be followed by further study, commissions, and concrete reparative steps to address the harm done, including continued reflection on how to prevent future misuses of power.
Pope Leo apologizes for Catholic Church's past support for slavery
Q: So stepping aside from today's news, you are an expert in this because you have written a book about the history of slavery, abolition, and the Catholic Church.
The guest explains his motivation, detailing how Jesuit involvement and historical documents reveal a more complex relationship between the Church and slavery than the traditional narrative that popes were universally opposed to slavery. He also discusses why the apology might be considered a starting point for deeper reckoning rather than a final resolution.
Cuba's hidden business empire faces US sanctions
Q: What is the importance of today's indictment going forward, and what does it actually say?
The indictment signals a political gesture to Cuban-Americans, serves as a psychological message to the Cuban leadership, and provides a legal framework that can be cited in Congress for future actions, potentially legitimizing enforcement measures against Cuba while avoiding full-scale war rhetoric.
Uncertainty for 20,000 seafarers stuck in the Persian Gulf
Q: What do the seafarers and their workers need to hear to feel assured they can pass safely through the Strait of Hormuz?
The guests and reporter emphasized the need for a clear, credible peace process, withdrawal of military incursions, and guarantees of safe passage without ongoing combat risk, plus timely, accurate information and access to provisions and open channels of communication.
Criminals aren’t the only ones responsible for Mexico’s disappeared
Q: What would you say about the registry and its accuracy?
The registry reveals that a large portion of missing persons have some information indicating they were once alive, and a substantial share have little to no information, which complicates tracking and accountability efforts.
