  • Has its moments but very surface level.

While I did enjoy moments of this podcast, I felt like the focus was way too much on homosexuality. Sure it’s a theme but I feel like it does the show a disservice acting like that’s one of the main aspects. I would have liked to have them actually talk about each episode and the events that happen and deep dive into the characters. Very little of that was on display. Kinda disappointed.

  • Made me like the show even more

Interviewers asked great questions, discussed points of view I hadn’t considered, and never spoiled the next episode. I loved the bonus with Mike White, and the talk around buddhist themes. This podcast was immensely entertaining, and gave me a whole level of appreciation for a show I already loved. Afterwards I searched Jia Tolentino and downloaded other podcasts she’s appeared on, and I can’t wait to listen to them. PS please take the moderator of Netflix’s The Diplomat under your wing — that ... more

  • It’s an official HBO podcast…

This is the weakest of the official podcasts that I’ve listened to. The House of the Dragon and The Last of Us podcasts are really excellent. This one is well-produced and gets the job done, not much beyond that. All of the official podcasts suffer from the same affliction of not being able to critique the show at all, which is expected. I would encourage Jia to try to mix up her vocabulary as I’m not sure I’ve heard someone use the expression, “giving ____” as much as she does here.

  • Fantastic podcast- it kept me completely transfixed

Btw from Let’s Go Brandon tee shirt wearing people the second someone disagrees- hey keep politics of it, but it’s totally okay to shove your views in everyone’s face all other times.

  • Jia stop hogging the mic!!

I think this pod is an enlightening listen and I’ve really enjoyed the guests and hosts’ insights and commentary into the ep, my only complaint is that Jia is talking entirely too much. I do enjoy her POV but after listening to all of the episodes from Season 3, I feel like I have to struggle to hear Josh’s take a lot of the time. He’s been handling this very graciously but it’s getting to the point where it’s a little ridiculous now. The most recent episode I listened to was almost entirely Jia... more
