I’m not a die hard fan of the books and even I can see how often this show mishandles it’s pace, world building, and honestly it’s budget. Too often this show feels like it aired on the SyFy Network only to hear the praises of this show on twitter. LOVE the book context and makes want to finish them up right away! Clearly these gents are passionate, they are articulate, and have a great understanding of show/film production to add extra critique. Keep up the great work gents!
I’m halfway through the books, I really enjoyed your show compared to another one I listened to that praises everything. Yours was very realistic explained the good and bad of the show. Keep it up!
Time for these guys to climb out of mommy’s basement
I appreciate the honest and mostly balanced take from two wheel of time nerds! I think all book readers felt the same initial shock and visceral disappointment with the scope of the changes, but these two do a solid job of being able to find things they like in addition to griping about all the little changes everywhere. more
I have begun to watch this the same way I listen to someone telling a story that I know well and they obviously don’t. They make sure they include the “cool” stuff in the highlights but don’t really understand or know how or why those things happen so they insert “explanations” throughout. I am extremely disappointed in a series I was looking forward and now find I can easily live without.
Y’all are doing great and being honest. Stick to your guns.
Good podcast and the hosts know the books very well. I am hoping after the season, they go back and review the episodes, books and story arc in more details. I enjoy their analysis and feel like they have a lot more to offer. more
