  • Worship in Spirit and Truth

"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:24)

To understand the wisdom of worship, you must first walk the road—through life’s trials, lessons, and grace—to discover what it means to truly worship God.

Joshua Swanson is someone who knows that road well. He walks it with humility, faith, and an unwavering heart for Jesus, even through challenges. THE WALK is a podcast that lifts up Christ and lays down the ego. Each episode is a powerful reminder that w... more

  • Much needed resource!

I love that Worship Leader Magazine has come out with this podcast. There are so many worship teams that are looking for devotional material, so this makes a lot of sense. I appreciate the format as well given that it is personal stories of peoples faith walk. I think as a Christian this is both an encouragement to me as a worshiper but also an encouragement to creative teams at churches everywhere. I look forward to seeing a lot more of these episodes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 172: Alexander Pappas: Worship Isn’t Just for Sunday
Q: When you go out that is it, are you pulling mostly from your most recent project Sunday? Or is it like, you got such a deep well of all these songs through the years.
Alex explains he blends new material with the established catalog, aims to push newer songs while respecting the older hits, and treats touring as both a platform for new material and a place to honor longtime songs; he emphasizes unity and serving the event's vision over personal showcase.
Ep 167: Cade Thompson: Why We Forget What the Cross Really Means
Q: What does it mean to move beyond a purely worship setting into being a recording artist and still serve the church?
For me, worship is a lifestyle and a calling. I try to keep the heart of worship in the road and on stage by prioritizing ministry to people and maintaining authenticity rather than chasing trends.
Ep 167: Cade Thompson: Why We Forget What the Cross Really Means
Q: Tell us what you've been up to lately and how your music intersects with Easter.
I'm continuing to write and tour, with new songs releasing every six weeks. The Cross is central to this season, and we want churches to sing these songs across Easter and beyond as a message of hope and perseverance.
Ep 163: Tommee Profitt: When God Took Over the Creative Process
Q: How did you get into songwriting, producing? Give us a snapshot, man.
Tommee explains he started in a basement, programming MIDI and building a tone-driven approach to emotion in music, which evolved into cinematic production and worship-leading work, blending both worlds.
Ep 153: Skye Reedy: When God Speaks Through Dreams and Scripture
Q: What does your rhythm look like for creating space with the Lord?
Skye shared that her rhythm includes reading her Bible during moments of caring for her son, as well as singing scripture throughout the day.
