  • Unoriginal

Boring. The same as every MTG podcast. A lot of negative criticism on magic. Go and create a card game that’s better. Learn how to speak. Using the word like three times in a sentence sounds ignorant. Stop finishing your sentence with the word right. Every noitall in magic pods sounds the same. Unoriginal.

  • Good show but 1 star

Good show, that gets oddly political opiniony, for a non news show at times.

I am an individual that believes in the benefits of capitalism. It’s abundantly clear from listening to this show that we do not share the same opinions in that respect. I have no problem hearing differing opinions, it what makes the world a fun place. During a recent episode the hosts hinted that they don’t particularly appreciate me as a listener bc of those opinions. It kinda sucked. I will keep listening on apple... more

  • Complicit

The author of War of the Spark: Forsaken thanked Nic “Technically the Girls Were Legal” Kelman, and in the next sentence he thanked the host of this cast, Jay Annelli. I believe Jay Annelli continues to enable Kelman, and I cannot in good conscience endorse this podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

386 - Secrets of Strixhaven with Author K Arsenault Rivera
Q: Are you forbidden from writing Magic's story now that you're official WotC staff?
I don't believe I can answer that question.
379 - Magic 102: The Building Blocks of Magic
Q: So Chris, what's our first question?
The first question invites discussion about whether the player is a wizard duelist or a broader concept of powerful mages, leading into the idea that Magic is best read as a duel between wizards or mages using mana to cast spells.
374 - Lorwyn: Eclipsed with Seanan McGuire
Q: What was the collaborative process like for writing this renewed story?
It was very collaborative, with more space for discussion and contributions than before, enhancing the overall story.
374 - Lorwyn: Eclipsed with Seanan McGuire
Q: What was your initial experience with Lorwyn before writing for it?
I wasn't actively playing Magic during the original Lorwyn release, but I was following the novels and had read all the original Lorwyn fiction.
358 - Seth Dickinson on The Edge
Q: What types of games have you been playing lately?
I play a lot of co-op video games with friends, and I recently finished 'Claire Obscure Expedition 33', which I cannot recommend highly enough.
