I love this podcast. I caught up so quickly and I want more! I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a sci-fi setting with magical elements and strong character writing and world building.
It’s wonderful, the chaos and also the slight mention of tarot cards and how the tarot cards connect with each of the people also why you gotta leave us? On a cliff hanger like this.
The acting is atrocious, particularly the Allie character. It’s honestly unlistenable.
A great binge listen meant I quickly became engaged with the story and characters. Good acting and sound design. 💜
Special Agent Ally sounds like Ruffnutt (HTTYD), an incredibly intelligent one but with the same level of sass. Wonder if she was the voice actor’s/character’s inspiration
A fresh and fun take on a genre that some have described as part X-Files, part Sanctuary, part Warehouse 13 and part Indiana Jones with a nod to other favorites. You can’t help but fall in love with the exploits and angsty relationships of the team, as they battle threats to humanity. If you’re a fan of intelligent, dripping sarcasm, you’ll absolutely fall in love with the resident genius character Allie. Every episode brings a new twist. Enjoy being immersed in the unknown.
Well acted and intriguing plots. Some wonderful voices.
Minimal on sound design and score but benefiting from a great cast, distinct characters and slow but intriguing world-building, The Technomancy Project operates on surface level like an X-Files monster of the week show. However, It's the underlying connected mystery, which continually deepens our character understanding via each reveal, that was most compelling. The chemistry between the main trio is the show's strongest point. The characters's development is done steadily at times comically but... more
Every inch of the Technomancy Project is solid and it makes for a very satisfying listen. There’s a nice variety to the monster-of-the-week plots: haunted house, aliens, demon possession, workplace audit, etc. and the show is adept at bringing in the humor and the horror when it is called for. Also, the little bits of continuity from episode to episode snowball into an intriguing season ending.
The character dynamics are stellar. Elijah and Allie are both tunnel visioned egotists who don’t need... more
The Technomancy Unit is an X-Files-like team of investigators/responders. Elijah is the trigger-happy sorcerer who takes the lead on all magic work. Allie is the genius scientist. Both of them are amoral narcissists who treat their co-workers with contempt. Enter Jason, a hapless congenial everyman, whom they rescue and then also proceed to treat with contempt.

The series blends sci-fi, supernatural mystery, and government intrigue around a team handling paranormal and occult phenomena. Across episodes, listeners follow a recovering memory-wiped protagonist as he pieces together betrayals, loyalties, and high-stakes operations with Special Agents, occult organizations, and immortal adversaries. Central tensions orbit personal sacrifices, ethical lines in surveillance and enforcement, and a rotating cast of morally complex teammates navigating shiftless conspiracies and dangerous rituals while the overarching mythos expands with each season.
A standout aspect is the ambitious worldbuilding that fuses technomagic with investigative procedure, creating a dense, serialized arc where character dynamic... more
