Reviews

4.7 out of 5 stars from 13 ratings
  • Very good content but audio needs work

I turn to this show to get a critical perspective on the awful tech industry. The content is excellent and the guests share a range of valuable expertise. I listen regularly despite the problems with the audio—as another reviewer said, the content is very quiet but the ads are loud and begin at random times with no warning, and can truly hurt your ears. (This makes me feel very irritated by the advertisers and I immediately skip through, which is presumably not the goal.) Please fix this problem... more

  • Too Quiet

Episodes need to be better engineered—main content is too quiet, sometimes very low, requiring turning up the volume to maximum, and then the commercials come in at a normal volume and are way too loud. Painful to listen to, disappointing because the content is good.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The rise of AI psychosis at work | Natasha Bernal
Q: What steps can employees take to advocate for themselves when their employer leans on AI in ways that feel manipulative or harmful?
The host outlines practical options: condense AI-produced material into concise briefs, use AI to craft a counter-argument, collect evidence for HR or legal channels, and pursue whistleblowing or formal complaints if necessary.
The rise of AI psychosis at work | Natasha Bernal
Q: How would you describe a healthy integration of AI into the workplace vs. what we're seeing now?
The guest argues for a diagnostic, human-centered approach: a specialized AI tool that supports humans rather than replaces decision-making, with clear boundaries and ongoing oversight to prevent over-reliance and misapplication.
The rise of AI psychosis at work | Natasha Bernal
Q: Which stories stood out most to you, and what do they reveal about the risks of AI in management practice?
Natasha points to scenarios where AI dashboards and 'bibles' drive daily decisions, illustrating how easily productivity tools can morph into control mechanisms, and she stresses the need for context and human judgment.
The rise of AI psychosis at work | Natasha Bernal
Q: Just first of all, what did you make of the Futurism piece that combined AI with workplace leadership dynamics?
Natasha explains that the piece highlights real-world patterns where leaders rely on AI opinions to justify decisions, leading to decision paralysis and a skewed, overconfident corporate environment; she notes this is plausible but requires careful human checks.
AI Bubble: ‘This could be OpenAI’s death spiral’ | Ed Zitron
Q: Why are advisors pushing OpenAI to delay the IPO to 2027 despite the hype around AI?
The line of reasoning is that delaying the IPO could prevent a down-round valuation by giving more time to improve the financials and align expectations with revenue prospects, though this may also signal underlying fragility in the revenue model.
