Great pod, platforms some lesser known but very worthwhile guests
I love the show, but the ads are horrendous. They just barge into the middle of sentences, twice as loud. They’ve got to do something about them
I get that ads are the price we pay for a free show. It’s just, can’t we have actual breaks where they pause, cut to an ad, and then start up again once they’ve played?
Excellent Current Information and Guests
I turn to this show to get a critical perspective on the awful tech industry. The content is excellent and the guests share a range of valuable expertise. I listen regularly despite the problems with the audio—as another reviewer said, the content is very quiet but the ads are loud and begin at random times with no warning, and can truly hurt your ears. Episodes need to be better engineered—main content is too quiet, sometimes very low, requiring turning up the volume to maximum, and then the commercials come in at a normal volume and are way too loud. Painful to listen to, disappointing because the content is good.

A sharp, analytical tech commentary show that centers critical perspectives on AI, market dynamics, and infrastructure, often featuring guests who dissect hype with data-driven skepticism. Episodes frequently probe the financial and governance dimensions of AI, data centers, and tech policy, while evaluating how media narratives, investor incentives, and regulatory actions shape outcomes for technology and society. Notable strengths include contrarian takes from industry observers, policymakers, journalists, and technologists, and a willingness to challenge mainstream narratives with detailed, numbers-focused analysis. This program tends to appeal to listeners who want a skeptical, economics-informed view of tech advances and who value rigo... more
