  • šŸ˜‚ great show

Great show! I loved how you helped out the lady that criticized your ramblin’ on episode 1 of the sub 3 series. You searched her on Strava and gave some advice. That was really cool. Great show and keep of the great work. I’ve listened to your Marcus brown interview and your sub3 marathon training a bunch. Keep the podcasts coming! Thank you!

  • A new way to look at running for any runner of any level

Stazza takes a different approach to both podcasts and marathon training. Taking a laid back approach, weaving in his decades of coaching experience with his easy style, this series strips back much of the information out there which can make it all seem so complicated, and simplifies it.

Around 30 mins feels just right, and you can listen to it from beginning to end on any run.

I'll certainly be listening to the regular episodes.

Looking forward to picking up some useful tips!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

THE BIG INTERVIEW
Q: What makes the coaching approach non one-size-fits-all and how did the methods develop?
The approach evolved from traditional club-level coaching to a broader range of runners, including beginners and elites. He developed a foundation and super base framework, and stressed that coaching is about more than running plans; it includes history, medical background, motivation, and ongoing communication.
THE BIG INTERVIEW
Q: How did you start coaching online and fall into this path?
John explains that he began by helping people locally, then joined Strava, which attracted followers who asked questions. The demand grew, leading to a paid structure that was more thorough than simple weekly plans. This evolved into a formal coaching process with onboarding and personalized history-taking.
THE BIG INTERVIEW - THIS A BANGER
Q: So you got somebody there, they're a good runner or they're interested in running. They like helping people. They want to become a running coach. They do a course on coaching. Where do they go next?
Have a plan; otherwise, you just go and start doing everything, which will spread you thin.
HILLS ARE THE PILLS
Q: What is the meaning of the word frot?
It's a playful challenge regarding the meaning of a trivia word, prompting listeners to engage.
