  • Quite good

This podcast was a cracker back in the day and Theo Delaney is still terrific. But the latest episode with Steve Perryman was like listening to an old man shouting at the clouds. Questioning medical science because “we were tougher in our day” is a load of old tosh. Steve was a terrific leader and captain in his day. A legend. But his monologues now are quite tedious.

  • For legacy fans

The show is what you would expect from a couple of aging legacy fans. They spend 50% of the time talking about the glory days and 50% complaining about the current team in every way possible. For some reason they believe that sitting on their butts in the stadium or at home in front of the TV makes them both football experts and mind readers. They constantly project their own miserable negativity onto the team and assume reasons and motivations where no evidence exists for those assumptions. ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Relegation Special
Q: Did you ever imagine going on to a Spurs show where we've just lost 4-1 to Arsenal and it's not the first thing we start moaning about?
It feels awful, and it's reflective of where we are in the league.
Relegation Special
Q: Is there any way you can see us getting out of this?
The prospects seem dire, with other teams performing better, making it hard to envision a way out.
Backstage Rant
Q: What needs to happen for a match day going fan to go, actually, I've had enough of this?
The lack of full stadiums is a clear indicator of fans' discontent and could push for change by impacting club revenue.
Backstage Rant
Q: How worried are we about the possibility of a relegation battle?
The possibility is realistic, as the current squad is considered one of the worst in history given the competition.
Martin Chivers 1945-2026
Q: What was your relationship like with Bill Nicholson?
It was a challenging relationship since Bill was a perfectionist and always pushed me to be better, but finally, I came to understand his methods and appreciate his coaching style.
