  • Emotional Support Group

This pod is like Alcoholics Anonymous for spurs fans. A very needed support group without which I would be totally lost in the sea of spurs chaos. It runs the gamut of seasoned considered takes to the purely emotional. It has become essential in my life.

  • Alluded

Brilliant podcast, Danny Kelly (get well soon) and Kate are great hosts. The guests are all knowledgeable and articulate. Only real criticism I have is Jay Harris using the word “alluded” when he really means “referred”, several times per show. For the love of god, someone explain to him what the word actually means, or just implement a swear jar for its use by him!

  • Nice work Kate!

Danny has massive shoes to fill. I think Kate has come in and immediately endeared me to her. The podcast needs someone with some emotion and opinions to counter the more balanced athletic reporters. Really pleased with her on the show

  • still by far the best Spurs pod

In this gloomiest of seasons VFTL continues to be the smartest, funniest and most objective Spurs pod. There have been many times this season when I don’t want to look at the back page or hear another ‘expert’ opinion on where our club has been misled, but I’d never miss VTFL because they complete understand what it is to be a Spurs fan. Danny’s ability to connect with the soul of the club and the importance of being a fan will be missed until he returns but Kate Mason has done a great job in hi... more

  • Gotten pretty full of themselves

I miss Danny Kelly. He at least is a fan who spoke with passion. His replacement and the others are clearly just writers only concerned with sounding smart.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What relegation would do to Spurs' finances + Villa preview!
Q: What would be the immediate financial impact if Spurs are relegated, beyond just ticketing?
Relegation would slash TV and sponsorship money, likely trigger significant contract and cost adjustments, and while some operating costs could be cut, the scale of the wage bill and debt would still leave the club financially strained in the short-to-medium term.
Home woes continue against Villa
Q: Which Monaco players pose the biggest threat when they're in form?
Ansu Fati stands out as a key attacking threat alongside Akliush, with Fati showing signs of recapturing Barcelona-era form. In midfield, the absence of Zacharia and Kamara makes Monaco feel lightweight centrally, so Spurs should target those spaces.
Home woes continue against Villa
Q: Tell us about Monaco's current form and what Spurs should expect in the Champions League game.
Monaco have had a turbulent season with a coaching change and a long injury list, but they showed resilience in Europe, including a late goal against City in a recent home result. Spurs should look to exploit wide areas and space behind wing-backs, while being mindful that Monaco can still hurt them on counter-attacks if Spurs are not compact.
The Thomas Frank months + Did we give him an easy ride?
Q: How did player discipline issues impact Thomas Frank's effectiveness?
It seems that Frank struggled to manage discipline consistently, leading to culture issues within the squad and impacting performance.
The Thomas Frank months + Did we give him an easy ride?
Q: What do you think went wrong for Thomas Frank?
The consensus seems to be that he never had the buy-in from players or fans, leading to a lack of trust and authority in his approach.
