Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Interview: Artist & Deck Creator Joseph Stretch
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about where you started on your deck creation journey to where you are now with the DIY tarot?
I started reading tarot in my teens, found traditional meanings limiting, and began building my own deck through collage, which gradually evolved into The Stretch Tarot and the DIY kit that supports others in finding their own meanings.
Interview: Author & Archetypal Tarot Counselor Mariana Louis
Q: If you could offer a piece of advice from moving from thinking of the tarot as a tool for divination to individuation, what's the first step there?
The first step is to stop sourcing the tarot for direction and accept that readings typically won't give a big resolution; instead, trust your internal sense of clarity and allow readings to challenge you and expand your self-understanding.
Interview: Writer & Artist Carolyn Yoo
Q: What advice would you give listeners who are transitioning from a structured program to developing their own ongoing practice?
Find community and reflect back to you what's working. Start from what resonates now, not what was prescribed, and allow yourself to experiment across mediums. It's important to retain some structure while giving yourself permission to shed parts that no longer serve you, using tools like journaling and periodic tarot checks to stay aligned.
Interview: Writer & Artist Carolyn Yoo
Q: What role do rituals like morning pages and tarot play in sustaining creativity after completing The Artist's Way?
Morning pages provided initial trust in showing up for myself, but over time the rhythm shifted. I now combine seasonal and lunar cues, tarot insights, and flexible routines to guide focus. The tarot, especially The Fool, helped frame risk-taking as a playful journey and reinforced intuition as a compass.
Interview: Writer & Artist Carolyn Yoo
Q: Can you talk about your relationship with The Artist's Way and how it evolved into CU and your visual practice?
I did The Artist's Way once, around 2019, while transitioning from a software engineering job. It sparked my newsletter See You, which began as weekly updates during the 12 weeks and continued for years, evolving with my practice and shifts in how I create and share work.
