  • A must for any current or aspiring members of the film industry

If you don’t like this podcast, we can’t be friends. Nick is a great host and takes the time to flesh out and learn as much as possible about his guest’s position in the film industry. Some of the terms and technical knowledge go over my head, but the host does a great job keeping it more conversational and not just “shop talk”. Give it a try, this one deserves your subscription if you have any interest in film.

  • Awesome Podcast!

Just finished the podcast with Scott Stoops. Great when CWU alumni in the industry get together... Felt like I was in the room listening to a couple friends catchup on their careers! Nick is a great interviewer... He asks the questions you want to ask! If you don't subscribe, you won't get this kind of "insider" information anywhere else!

Kimball Farley - Actor
Q: What's advice you would give somebody who wants to get into acting?
Everyone's journey is different, but it starts with having a delusional belief in yourself and understanding that you will reach your goals if you keep working for them.
Dan Jones - 1st AC
Q: If you could give yourself advice 10 years ago, what would you say?
I would tell myself to really enjoy the filmmaking process and appreciate the great acting and the people around me.
Dan Jones - 1st AC
Q: Is there any advice that you would like to give anyone who's wanting to get into film?
Certainly! I suggest starting as a production assistant to gain a good perspective of how different departments function. Pay attention, ask questions when you don’t know something, and be honest about your experience level.
Joe Packheiser - Location Scout/Location Manager
Q: Is there anything that surprised you about the business once you got really into the business?
One major surprise was the varying preferences of production designers in terms of scouting photos and how they like to work with scouts.
Joe Packheiser - Location Scout/Location Manager
Q: How did you get into the business? How did this whole thing start for you?
I studied biology in college, but eventually transitioned into location scouting after living with a film student who encouraged me to try it out.
