  • Boundaries Review

Just listened to the boundaries episode which has some useful insight and one glaring weakness in that it seems overly absolute and inconsistent with the standard psychological understanding of boundaries. Even the definition of boundaries used in this episode is custom tailored to convey a particular meaning instead of using the standard psychological definition.

The biggest logical weakness is treating all “boundaries” as fundamentally opposed to love, rather than distinguishing healthy boun... more

  • Listened to a few podcasts. This is what I most liked...

New to your podcast, but I think it's helpful. Part of what I like about the podcast is it's not overstimulating like lots of entertainment I consume. Then it's enjoyable because it reminded me of a time when you weren't there to have fun, though you may end up doing so. So I appreciate that about the show, because nowadays people don't put in effort to achieve things that require more than their amusement, at least the people I encounter in the world.

  • Kenny Understands Love

I came across Kenny on Instagram around a year ago. After getting his book, I DMed him, asking if he’d be willing to connect so I could ask him some questions about love - he sent his number and we had several phone conversations which eventually led to me recording our conversations for my Podcast - he then ended up extracting several clips for a few of his Podcasts.

Recently, my sister and I planned a trip to visit Texas. I reached out to Kenny and he offered to have us stay on his propert... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 168 - Boundaries (Revisited)
Q: What's the first question when you asked yourself about boundaries?
The first question is whether your boundary is for you or for the other person; true boundaries formed from love are always for the other person's best, and if you find that your boundaries are primarily for yourself, you need to reframe them as acts of love that seek their true good.
Ep. 168 - Boundaries (Revisited)
Q: What would you tell them the first step would be?
Start by clarifying that the goal is to love the other person, which may involve stepping away or changing how you engage if their behavior is harming themselves or others. The initial move is to communicate with care, set boundaries that reflect love, and be prepared for the effort and potential distance that may follow, while keeping the focus on what's best for them.
Ep. 160 – What Is Love? A Conversation with Rachel Uchitel (Part 2)
Q: What do you think is the most misunderstood thing about love?
That love is just a feeling; it sets up damaging expectations in relationships.
Ep. 160 – What Is Love? A Conversation with Rachel Uchitel (Part 2)
Q: How do you explain faith to people that aren't such believers at the moment?
If God was who most people believe He is, then they shouldn't believe, because He's not the person they've been taught about.
Ep. 159 – What Is Love? A Conversation with Rachel Uchitel (Part 1)
Q: Can you elaborate on the concept of love being a 'why' rather than a 'what'?
Love is determined not by what we do but by our intentions and reasons for doing it.
