  • Consistently Excellent Content

No fillers, no quantity over quality which becomes quite typical in other podcasts.

Every episode had me fully engaged and listening, and making notes thanks to the excellent questions and answers.

I hope Allison returns for more. And I will definitely be in touch with her for her consulting in the future

  • A good listen with some valuable advice

An insightful series of interviews covering some very relevant topics. Alison engages well with her guests and as a recruitment industry expert is clear and concise on each subject matter.

Series 2 so far though sounds like a sales pitch from Sonovate rather than an insight into how to structure, finance or prepare your business for an event.

Naughty, Nice, or Just Inefficient? The Leadership Mindset Shift Recruitment Needs in 2026 with Alison Humphries & Zoe Jephtha
Q: What does a red versus green leadership style look like, and what small change could a red leader make to improve quickly?
Red leaders focus on outputs and lane-specific metrics, often ignoring inputs and development; a small but powerful change is to start monitoring inputs and processes more holistically, not just the final fees.
Rehumanising Business Development: Practical Mindset Shifts with Kate O’Neill, Recruitment Coach
Q: What are the three most important boxes to tick on a BD call?
Provide tailored solutions based on deep needs discovery, build rapport through genuine listening and relevant opener, and ensure a strong opening that demonstrates relevance and credibility to the prospect, followed by a clear next-step or meeting.
Rehumanising Business Development: Practical Mindset Shifts with Kate O’Neill, Recruitment Coach
Q: What mistakes do you see leaders in recruitment making when they try to improve BD?
Leaders often bring in training without addressing underlying beliefs and mindsets, neglect one-to-one coaching, and fail to measure smaller wins; they also neglect preparation, questioning, and relationship-building as ongoing processes rather than one-off activities.
Changing How Recruitment Works: Tech, Trust and Human Impact with Nitin Sharma, Founder of Rectools
Q: Nitin, you've had an interesting journey through the recruitment industry and elsewhere. Why don't you just talk us through how you got to where you're at today?
I've been running Rectools since 2019/2020 after my recruitment business failed in 2023; I started Rectools to create a market-wide directory and to share good suppliers and insights, while also rebuilding my personal brand and connecting with like-minded people.
Scaling a Values-Driven Recruitment Brand: Growth, Culture, and Curiosity with Amy Griffith & Emma Symonds, Co-Founders of True North Talent
Q: What advice would you give to someone moving from recruiter to business owner?
Hire strong operational support early (admin/ops manager) to keep the business running, and develop scalable processes and culture to sustain growth.
