  • Incredible show - and so much helpful advice🔥!

Honestly it’s so hard to do intimacy advice right….it often feels a little too cliché or over the top but Dr.Stacy has this incredible way of making you feel comfortable AND keeping it interesting. You’ll want to keep this one on your downloads every week!

  • Dr Stacy compliments these discussions instead of complicating them!

I really have not “done” many podcasts… never been my thing - but I think that’s about to change… Dr Stacy makes these conversations easy to have - informative - and perhaps the most important part - she shows each and every one of us that, well, it’s not JUST us… there are others out there who experience what we each do… and she gives advice on how to make things - so many things - better.Kudos!

  • Love This Podcast

I’ve really been enjoying The Purple Project podcast by Dr. Stacy. It’s such a refreshing and honest take on intimacy in midlife, and I feel like I learn something new every time I listen. She explains things in a way that’s easy to understand but still meaningful. Definitely worth a listen if you’re looking to feel more connected and informed.

49. When Chronic Pain Steals Your Sex Life- And How to Get it Back
Q: Beyond nutrition, are there certain movements or body mechanics that someone can take or do to make intimacy more comfortable?
Yes. Focus on three-plane movement, incorporating hip, trunk, and ankle mobility to ensure the pelvic region can move functionally. Gentle, weight-bearing, rotational and side-to-side motions help stabilize the pelvis and reduce pain. Start with small, pain-free reps and gradually increase as comfort allows, ensuring you don't push into pain.
49. When Chronic Pain Steals Your Sex Life- And How to Get it Back
Q: So can you explain a little bit about what the pelvic floor is actually and language that people can understand?
The pelvic floor is better thought of as a pelvic bowl of muscles that support the bladder, uterus, and rectum. When these muscles are weak or not functioning in coordination, symptoms like incontinence or pelvic pain can arise, which in turn affect intimacy. Strengthening and coordinating these muscles—with attention to hip and ankle connections—helps restore comfortable, functional movement during sex.
51. What's Actually Going On With Men in Midlife
Q: What can I do about persistent performance anxiety and fear of failing?
Lower the stakes of initiation, focus on warmth and connection rather than sex, have open conversations with your partner, and use structured exercises like the Confidence Comeback Plan from the playbook to rebuild confidence.
51. What's Actually Going On With Men in Midlife
Q: First question, I used to have a great sex drive and now I feel nothing. Is this just aging or is something wrong with me?
No, nothing is wrong with you. The biology of aging changes desire and erections, but you haven't lost your sexuality; it has shifted from spontaneous to more responsive, needing triggers and connection.
50. Why Don't I Want Sex Anymore? The Desire Episode
Q: What is the difference between spontaneous and responsive desire and why does it matter?
Spontaneous desire appears without trigger, while responsive desire requires a prior cue; understanding this helps couples align expectations and create environments that support desire without pressuring it.
