The Playbetter Podcast literally changed my life and view towards games when I began listening to it in high school. I definitely recommend giving it a listen. Their 2014 Halloween special is still unsurpassed imo in quality.
I miss listening to your podcast. You guys are amazing. I wish you’d bring it back!
I went searching for L5R 5th ed games to watch, as I'm trying to learn how to generally run a game, and I came across this podcast's youtube channel, which a comment there said the video was only part of what happened, so I searched here and found the podcast. I've not watched yet, so I hope it turns out well. So for now, four stars rated blindly and in good faith and hope.
I would love to see the party finish a campaign 😕 and start again, other than that, a paragon of friends playing dnd.
I listen to this podcast solely for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition episodes. The charcters are good and so are group of people playing. I've learned several new lessons over my course of listening, however the one thing that annoys me is that this group can't finish what they started. The only campaign they finished was the Curse of Strahd. The party next moved onto Storm King's Thunder and stopped after their 13th podcast of playing this campaign. The party then moves onto 2 other campaig... more
I the are plenty of bad RPG actual play podcast on iTunes but this is not one of them. Good quality and fun to listen to. Cast has a lot of charisma and they're not boring at all. They stay in character for most part and you don't feel like they waste your time at all. I listened to one actual play and got addicted. If you have long journey ahead please give them a shot.
The references are on point, the players are fantastic, and the breadth of games they cover is amazing. One of my favorite tabletop games podcasts.
If my tabletop group spent 2 out of 3 hours talking about movie trivia, tangential stories or making puns/jokes, I would intentionally fail my saving throw vs death. Maybe I was unfortunate enough to listen to a really bad Actual Play session as my first listen, but it was so gawd-awful, I don't think I can handle listening to any more. Unsubscribe.
yeah yeah the audio quality is good, but this is the most pretentious group I have had the misfortune to listen to.
I came upon this podcast when I was in search of tips for how to run my Curse of Strahd campaign.
I started listening to the Curse of Strahd game, and was hooked by mixed of good gaming experience and the off the wall comments that come out as they play. It reminded me of the enjoyment you actually get while playing a good game with friends.
Incredible, genial, and hilarious role players who explore a variety of role playing discussions, Actual Plays, interviews, Q&R, and more! They expose listeners to different types of games, different sides of the role playing experience, and different sides of themselves. *snicker* Expose! *snicker*
Worth bingeing!

The Play Better Podcast is entertaining with professional production values, and the hosts’ enthusiasm for gaming is downright infectious. A thoroughly enjoyable podcast!
I came to this podcast to listen to them play through Storm King's Thunder, but struggle listening to McNary consistently talk over the other players and demean them. I just saw another reviewer from two years ago mention the same issue and if the issue hasn't changed in two years, it probably won't be changing any time soon. I want to keep listening to this, but cringing every two minutes isn't worth it.
I really like the podcast. The hosts are entertaining. The content is solid. I really enjoy the live-plays, even with the occasional rules mix-up. Overall, they embody the purpose of role-playing games: having fun.
Really enjoying this podcast!! Espacially the episodes were they try all the different RPG systems.
