This week, you get the second ever Spotty Awards as we look at our game of the year 2021 (so far) picks, it’s time for the last ever Mystery Steam Reviews, and we’ve got a load of Burning Questions to get through. The PC Gaming Weekspot was the only ... more
So, the main point of discussion on this week's podcast is the Outer Wilds: Echoes Of The Eye DLC. Talking about it is tricky, because saying pretty much anything about it feels spoiler-y. Christ, I'm trying to be careful writing this blurb in case I... more
After getting a taste last week, both myself and Matthew have spent the last few days in Blackreef. We've been enjoying doing the same things over and over. Yeah, Deathloop is pretty good.
Before we chat about our looping adventures in Arkane's FPS... more
Yes, we all know the game has a very cool look, and all of us enjoy playing a good time loop game, but what actually is Deathloop? Thankfully, Matthew's played the first few hours and is here to enlighten both you and I.
But, before we chat about C... more
Excellent pod: a sort of video games newstainment show, but good! The hosts have a great double act going, have some great bits, and are quite dryly funny about the often stupid, always endless video game news cycle. They don't take themselves too seriously, and feel pretty genuine: great segments too (Mystery Steam Reviews: Millionaire, but if Millionaire had you guessing a game from some deranged Steam user's massively obtuse review, sometimes read in the British WWTBAM host's voice)
I love this podcast, Mathew and Colm are genuinely funny guys who have a really good chemistry together ! The show has several segments relating to gaming such as ‘news’ segments and ‘show and tell’ where they talk about new and trending games they have been playing in the week and talk about them. They also have a game show segment called ‘mystery steam reviews’ in which they try to guess the game from reviews in a ‘who wants to be a millionaire’ type format. As well as other gaming related seg... more
Even though I read Rock Paper Shotgun and other PC gaming sites daily, I still learn some news from this show every week. And playing along to Mystery Steam Reviews is as fun as playing any given PC game. Keep it up!
I came to this podcast via listening to Graham Smith and the crew over at the Crate and Crowbar - another pod I would highly recommend, and one I have been a fan of for a very long time. This is a very different affair, much sillier, much angrier but equally informative and entertaining and a perfect complement to the C & C.
Love Matt’s rants and Colm’s calming demeanour - Love Sir Spielberg’s input’s and the Mystery Steam Reviews. Love EVERY minute of this brilliant pod - thank you both for mak... more
Colm is a wonderful host and Matthew an equally wonderful co-host; the sections are well-paced, always interesting and of course entertaining. Smashing stuff from RPS. The bubbling resentment that constantly runs under the Mystery Steam Reviews section is my main source of joy.
