Smart people talking romance books/genre. Great chemistry! I am excited for more!
I was so excited to learn about this podcast, but I only made it 20 minutes into the first episode. It sounded like Jaysen wanted to have a real discussion about the book, but the three women sounded like they were doing awkward role play for a class project. The incessant nervous giggling and talking over each other made this impossible to listen to. I hope as the series goes on they become more comfortable.
I follow Jaysen on Instagram and was very excited when he promoted a podcast going through the history of the romance genre.
After listening to the first episode, I immediately subscribed. Each panelist made me laugh, reviewed the book well, and had good tid-bits to add to the discussion.
I really look forward to when the romance genre stems into sub-genres! What came first? How deep will they dive into bodice rippers, the paranormal, monstrous, historical, and fantasy?
I look forward to this podcast & listen in as if I had my own chair around the table. I was looking for a reason to pick up some of the classics I’ve never read, & this is just perfect! (I’m so glad you’re busy too, so I have enough time to finish reading before the next episode!! )
I catch myself nodding along with comments or even disagreeing at times & laughing because you’re laughing!
I can’t wait to hear what we read next!!
This is the bookclub I wish I had! So fun to listen to their discussion and even when they don’t recommend reading the book (*ahem* Pamela), their chat made me go listen to the audiobook and share in the pain.
Book requests: Jane Eyre and/or Wuthering Heights please! No Romance discussion can be complete without the Brontës.
