  • Less LOL, more content - please!

I want to love this podcast. I genuinely do. I have waited on bated breath for episode 5 to come out. And yet - the out of control laughter is driving me crazy. It is nearly impossible to get any information across because the majority of the hosts are constantly bursting into uncontrollable laughter. Every time they start something, they interrupt themselves by laughing. Thank goodness for Jaysen, who consistently brings everyone back to the topic at hand. I have no problem with a few laughs, ... more

  • Super fun!

Fun take on reading (or re-reading) classic romances. Minus 1 star for not starting with Shakespeare! Many of his comedies are closer to the origin of the classic romance tropes: “Much Ado About Nothing”-enemies to lovers; “Romeo & Juliet”- tragic, star crossed lovers; “12th Night”- mistaken identity

  • Needs some work

I was so excited to learn about this podcast, but I only made it 20 minutes into the first episode. It sounded like Jaysen wanted to have a real discussion about the book, but the three women sounded like they were doing awkward role play for a class project. The incessant nervous giggling and talking over each other made this impossible to listen to. I hope as the series goes on they become more comfortable.

  • Delightful Listen

I follow Jaysen on Instagram and was very excited when he promoted a podcast going through the history of the romance genre.

After listening to the first episode, I immediately subscribed. Each panelist made me laugh, reviewed the book well, and had good tid-bits to add to the discussion.

I really look forward to when the romance genre stems into sub-genres! What came first? How deep will they dive into bodice rippers, the paranormal, monstrous, historical, and fantasy?
