  • Thoughtful, worthwhile and fun.

I really enjoy this show when I dip into it. It’s thoughtful and the guys have a broad intellectual hinterland in a way that’s fundamentally untrue of most movie podcasts. It also has the quality of being worthwhile even when you don’t agree with the overall thesis or conclusions of an episode, which is an even rarer quality. Not listened to every episode as I don’t tend to engage with criticism of films I’ve not seen recently, let alone not seen at all, but it’s great to know there’s a bank of ... more

  • Highly Recommend

A really good movie podcast. It oscillates between intelligent analysis and irreverence. Their choice of subject matter is also great: Tracing the early history of digital cinema from the experimental to the ubiquitous—what a concept?! The hosts have a nice rapport that suggests they’re tight bros from way back when. I like when podcast hosts hint at regional knowledge. My parasocial relations require something esoteric like where to get the good donuts if I ever make it to Portland.

  • Makes you think

A fun movie podcast for people who like to think harder about movies than fandom and learn about history and theory. Corbin and Dr. Movies make you smarter!
