The episode of NXT that originally aired on January 21st, 2015 didn't intend to teach us a new word, but in our defense, Afrikaans words are simpler to spell on an American keyboard than 'Coup de Grâce' is. Not that we don't love a circumflex around ... more
…granted it’s the only Wrestling podcast I listen to, but after being asked to listen to it despite having never watched a wrestle I enjoyed it so much I decided to keep watching just so I could continue to listen to it. Miles is a great host to shepard us newbies through the wild jungle that is wrestling, and Bob is possibly the funniest human being alive.
Great host chemistry, interesting perspective on wrestling, good excuse to visit a bunch of NXT from when I wasn't watching wrestling.
On top of everything, superbly positive.

Miles and MeganBob (formerly of Smash Fiction) are so delightful that I’ve overcome my lack of interest in wrestling. Given the chance, I might even watch NXT now. 😃
If you don’t know what I mean and you’re curios you’ll just have to listen to understand.
Here’s the truth: Meganbob and Miles have phenomenal podcast chemistry that makes their interactions interesting and almost inherently HILARIOUS. This is not to say this podcast doesn’t have substance, on the contrary, this wrestlecast is full of genuinely good discussions of wrestling history and the artistry of wrestling that got me interested in watching actual matches.
Also, I have never read a Jane ... more
This show captures SO MUCH that I love about wrestling, stories, conversations, and the joy of watching skilled folks do their thing. Meganbob and Miles are a perfect pairing and a delight to listen to. If you like wrestling at all, romance novels at all, or just enjoy hearing friends crack each other up, do yourself a solid and listen now!
I don’t want to admit how quickly I got through all the episodes once I decided to give this show a try. I don’t much care about wrestling, but MeganBob and Miles make even my frosty heart melt a touch and want to give the concept a try. Also, GET ALL THE POINTS, MEGANBOB! The extra episode about romance novels was a delight, and I don’t really read those, either. At this rate, these two will get me interested in dryer lint next, and I’ll thank them for it.
Make sure you listen, but only if y... more
I’ve began listening to this show for the sole reason that some of my favorite podcasters are doing it and I wanted more of them in my life. And I could not be more delighted. Meganbob is the epitome of a new fan coming into a nerdy thing. Bubbling with enthusiasm, curiosity, and just that hint of fear that it’s too big. Not that It'll stop her. Miles is the platonic ideal of an experienced fan, the opposite of a gatekeeper, a laughing imp who can’t wait to show off what’s great about this thing... more
I listen to podcasts for two reasons: to learn and to laugh; this podcast passes both criteria. With as large of a phenomenon as pro wrestling is, it’s good to know the themes, lingo, and ultimately the spirit of these programs. This podcast is educational in this respect, but a podcast where two folks talk about wrestling would be VERY boring to me. So it’s good that Miles and Meganbob are both delightful in many and varied and sometimes clashing ways.
A good time is had all-around.
So as of episode 8 my mind is made up. Between the hashtags, the adjectives, and all that the cast does this podcast is amazing and deserves so many good things!
I started listening to this podcast knowing absolutely nothing about wrestling, and now I know SLIGHTLY LESS THAN NOTHING about wrestling! But the real joy is the hilarious breakdown of each match. No wait, the real joy is the pitch-perfect chemistry between the hosts. Or is the real joy this open door beckoning me into a love of wrestling, proving that the answer was inside me all along? The only way to know is to listen yourself! What can your human heart feel?
This podcast is operating as intended. I am giggling while learning about wrestling. I have a passing familiarity with wrestling that is about 15 years out of date and this podcast is making me want to start watching again. The artwork captures the spirt of this show where Miles shares his love of wrestling with Meaganbob, who is a lover of enthusiasm. Meaganbob is a delight to listen to she brings a unique perspective as a fanfic reader and writer. Her match descriptions have me laughing out lo... more
When I was a kid, my best friend was super into wrestling. We both grew up to be massive nerds. Freshman year of college, I started playing D&D with a guy whose Monk fought exclusively through wrestling moves. He was such a big nerd that he already had a library of .gifs on his phone to help pull us into his fantasy. I eventually started to listen to podcasts made for and by huge nerds, and for some reason I could never really understand, wrestling was always part of the banter, a side conversat... more
It's rare to find a show where every element works as well as it does with this show. I'm not a wrestling fan, but the hosts of this podcast are so delightful that I eagerly listen to every episode. The segments are fun and punchy, the tone is the perfect combination of friendly and hilarious, and I've found it be a wonderful way to develop new knowledge and appreciation of the deceptively subtle and nuanced storytelling that pro wrestling employs. Highly recommended!
Remember when wrestling was fun? That’s what this podcast feels like! Miles is immersed in wrestling fandom. He loves this stuff. Megan Bob has only the vaguest idea what is happening but is happy to put her own incredibly entertaining spin on it. They talk the good, the bad, an the ugly of pro wrestling as an art form, a television show, and as a story telling device. It honestly makes no difference if you’re a fan of wrestling or not. if you like laughing & being entertained, this show is for y... more
