Losing a Sibling to Epilepsy
Q: If someone's coming up to you guys and they have a sibling who's recently been diagnosed with epilepsy, do you have some advice that you wish you had?
We tell a lot of people, like you have to be your best advocate, because we went through so much with trying to find the right doctor and find somebody who would go through the trial and error with us.
Parents of Young Adults With Epilepsy
Q: How was your mental health throughout this entire process?
It definitely put a stress on me and Cindy because we were worried about her health and what it was doing to her brain with the repeated seizures.
Using Social Media For Good
Q: So I guess if somebody was newly diagnosed with epilepsy and they were finding epilepsy content online, what would you say to look out for that would be actually good content to consume versus not good content to consume?
It's important to start with reputable sources like the Epilepsy Foundation or Mayo Clinic, then approach social media with discernment to spot misinformation.
