Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP112 - It’s (Tetra)reigning Jango in Eternals
Q: How did testing for Eternal differ from testing for Atlanta/Premier?
Testing for Eternal involved exploring new leadership options and deck lists, especially against meta staples like Jango and Gar, while also coordinating with teammates to compare Eternal vs Premier results. It required adapting strategies to a wider card pool and focusing on matchups that are unique to non-rotating formats.
EP112 - It’s (Tetra)reigning Jango in Eternals
Q: What would you say is like the main draw for you to play Eternal?
The main draw should just be the fact that no cards were banned or suspended at that time, so you get to play with all your favorite cards and explore powerful interactions that were previously unavailable. It also lets players experiment with long-standing decks and new card synergies without restrictions.
EP110 - Every Day, New Players!
Q: What do you think could improve the game going forward?
Continue evolving with double-aspect units and splash bases to broaden deck-building options and keep the meta from hardening into a single top deck.
EP110 - Every Day, New Players!
Q: Why is it hard to teach sequencing in a perfect way?
Because card draws and the exact board state differ every game, so you can't rely on a fixed script; you must know your deck, your opponent's typical reactions, and adapt dynamically.
EP110 - Every Day, New Players!
Q: What advice would you give to someone starting out with Star Wars Unlimited?
Focus on one deck to learn its interactions deeply before branching out, learn your deck inside and out, and grind against as many different decks as possible to understand sequencing and how to counter different strategies.
