  • Progressive extremism

Let’s face it, aside from the diehard progressives, there’s no other content for anyone else on the show. In an era where more and more Americans are waking up to the dangerous, destructive nature of progressive policies, this show does nothing to bridge the gap to any other persuasion. There’s a lot of anger and depression here and guests, while informative, are generally pretty boring so at least limit the time they have. Shows with regular guest appearances are out dated and have been for a ... more

I love the way you never give up, even when I do. You give me a reason to go on. My daughter, wonderful son- in- law and two grandsweeties are going to actually starve if we don’t get one of them a job soon. Xmas is canceled. But you give me hope somehow. Thank you for being there.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The First Big Fugly Medicaid Cuts Hit Nebraska
Q: What exactly is happening with Medicaid in Nebraska and why now?
Nebraska moved to implement work requirements and cuts earlier than the federal timeline, which prompted confusion about who remains eligible and how access to care will be affected. This includes the expansion population, overall Medicaid, and related programs like SNAP.
Primary Day in Arizona and a Look Backward and Ahead in Michigan Too
Q: How has Abdul approached campaigning after his gubernatorial run and with Southpaw Michigan PAC?
He emphasizes people-powered organizing, using millions of texts and door-knocking to mobilize volunteers, and building a broad progressive coalition to back candidates up and down the ballot.
Primary Day in Arizona and a Look Backward and Ahead in Michigan Too
Q: What did Abdul El-Sayed see as the core rationale for Medicare for All?
He argues that healthcare is a moral right, that the U.S. spends more per capita than any other country and still leaves tens of millions uninsured or underinsured, and that single-payer would remove barriers like premiums and deductibles while ensuring universal access.
How to Be a Dissident in These Ugly Times (with Julia Angwin & Ami Fields-Meyer)
Q: What are some actionable strategies people can use beyond street protests?
People can organize small trusted groups, engage in strategic nonviolent actions like boycotts and legislative advocacy, work within institutions, and build networks that sustain civil rights protections over time.
How to Be a Dissident in These Ugly Times (with Julia Angwin & Ami Fields-Meyer)
Q: How do you define a dissident for today's readers?
A dissident is someone who upholds shared constitutional and democratic values, not simply opposing authority for its own sake, and fights for a better society by staying true to core principles.
