The Movie Loft Podcast

Tony, Phil, Thom

The Movie Loft Podcast features three Boston boys, Tony, Phil and Thom, in an old barn loft talking about '80s movies and memories. The name and premise is also a nod to a titular Boston institution, The Movie Loft, featuring Dana Hersey, which ran on WSBK TV-38 throughout our “salad days”. This project started as an excuse to capture our conversations for posterity. Highlighting a different movie... more

  • Love the Vibes of this Show

I can picture the barn loft, and somehow, it makes for a cozier listen!! I love that this show’s mission is to weave together a documentation of your formative years! Such a cool way to do it, through the lens of movies. Movies and songs, to me, are like stickers that catch the memories of the time period you saw or heard them in, and this show proves that! Loved the part about the parachute pants btw 😂 Always down to support another Boston pod! Five Stars, and Be Kind, Remind! 😀

  • Nostalgia overload

Full disclosure my favorite thing in the world is having someone bring up something I completely forgot. That’s what this podcast does for me, be it a top 5 or 10’ list a specific scene from a film or something newsworthy from a specific era. The guys voices are soothing and no one is talking over one another. Great stories with easy to imagine visuals, big fan !!

  • Huzzah!

I don’t know how they do it, but this podcast manages to combine nostalgic trips back to the 70’s/80’s and 90’s with entertaining dives into some of the most iconic movies of those eras. Each episode offers a peek into the lives of the three podcasters (and sometimes guests); making this not just a “scene for scene” dissection but I true history of the movie, characters, catchphrases and more. Tales from the light and dark side of growing up around Boston and the companionship and easy conversa... more
