The name and premise is also a nod to a titular Boston institution, The Movie Loft, featuring Dana Hersey, which ran on WSBK TV-38 throughout our formative years. This project started as an excuse to capture our conversations for posterity. Highlighting a different mo... more

A great movie podcast. Love the casual tone and humor. Gives me great nostalgic feels.
No wonder the Movie Loft podcast won Podcast of the year 6 times in a row!!! (I just made that up), these Dooods are awesome and genuinely having a good time talking about stuff we all love and we’re a part of.
I really feel like I’m in the Loft with them even when I’m not. Solid movies, solid reviews, and solid characters that force you to pay attention to every word.
I can’t get enough and recommend to everyone!

I can picture the barn loft, and somehow, it makes for a cozier listen!! I love that this show’s mission is to weave together a documentation of your formative years! Such a cool way to do it, through the lens of movies. Movies and songs, to me, are like stickers that catch the memories of the time period you saw or heard them in, and this show proves that! Loved the part about the parachute pants btw 😂 Always down to support another Boston pod! Five Stars, and Be Kind, Remind! 😀
They may not stay on topic, but they will keep you entertained and take you back to your youth.
Full disclosure my favorite thing in the world is having someone bring up something I completely forgot. That’s what this podcast does for me, be it a top 5 or 10’ list a specific scene from a film or something newsworthy from a specific era. The guys voices are soothing and no one is talking over one another. Great stories with easy to imagine visuals, big fan !!

The series showcases informal discussions among three friends as they reminisce about '80s films and share personal anecdotes connected to the movies. Each episode typically features a specific film, exploring its cultural impact, humorous elements, and nostalgic memories associated with it. They infuse their conversations with humor and a sense of camaraderie, making the experience feel like a casual gathering among friends. A notable aspect is the focus on evoking nostalgia while providing entertaining commentary, rather than completing detailed movie analyses. This blend of memory, storytelling, and humor is particularly appealing to listeners who enjoy a light-hearted take on classic movies from their youth.
