Q: How did growing up in a family business shape your career path?
It created a strong sense of belonging and a practical path from an early age, with opportunities to learn by doing, which helped him develop as both an auctioneer and a trusted advisor to clients.
Kellie Singh - Dance, leadership, family and finding purpose through passion.
Q: How did you balance the business side of TCDA with your family relationships as you grew?
It required clear boundaries, a commitment to shared values, and trust in the next generation. They established roles, onboarded new management systems, and ensured family dynamics remained respectful and supportive. They also protected family time and pursued a multi-generational approach to leadership, with Lily stepping into more of the front-facing and creative roles.
Kellie Singh - Dance, leadership, family and finding purpose through passion.
Q: So Kell, take us back to the beginning. How did the vision of TCDA first come together and what inspired your family to build something like this in Tamworth?
The idea started from a shared love of dance and a recognition that regional communities could benefit from a strong, family-led studio. Kellie and Pauline met as teenagers, built a studio in Sydney, then moved to Tamworth for family reasons, where Kellie began teaching and the entire family gradually committed to growing a community-focused business that offered more than just classes, including leadership development, competitions, and community events.
