  • I don’t even like comics

But I didn’t know how fun it could be to live vicariously through those who do!

The rapport these guys have in each episode make it entertaining to be a fly on the wall of their discussions. Somehow the talk radio vibe with the sound effects also makes it nostalgic for me, which adds to the intrigue of listening. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Spider-Man Noir, The Gwen Stacy Affair: 6/2/26
Q: Jon, what did you think of Spider-Man Noir overall, and how did you feel about the noir elements in this particular run?
Jon expressed that while the series isn't a pure noir, it successfully captures the era's flavor and offers a wild, imaginative ride with Erik Larsen's distinctive style; the balance between noir and superhero antics was mixed but enjoyable for its bold ideas.
Daredevil, Cold Day in Hell: 3/24/26
Q: What makes this Daredevil story stand out compared to previous runs?
The story blends Old Man Logan-esque themes with a hopeful, faith-driven approach and tight three-issue storytelling, highlighting Soule's refined writing and McNiven's gritty art to deliver a complete, emotionally resonant conclusion.
Spider-Man Issue 17 w/John Davis: 3/3/26
Q: John, what happens in this particular issue, which you called the barbecue sauce saga?
The story centers on Aunt May's demand for barbecue sauce while Spider-Man grapples with saving people during a dangerous accident, leading to a confrontation with Death and Thanos where Spider-Man nearly loses; Death allows him to save a girl, creating a human, emotional core.
The New Gods Vol.1, The Falling Sky: 12/23/25
Q: What do you think about the pacing and storytelling in The New Gods series?
There are a lot of ideas being introduced, but many felt they didn't have time to breathe, leading to confusion about character motivations and plot.
Transformers Vol.1, Robots in Disguise: 11/25/25
Q: JA., you're traditionally somebody that likes licensed books. Did you like this one?
JA finds the series has a lot of violence compared to the cartoon and speaks to nostalgia, though it feels a bit cliché.
