  • The Lapsed Fan Podcast⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Lapsed Fan Podcast is helping to fill a void that was created when the pro wrestling territories ended abruptly.

We didn’t get a final season or farewell tour, so this is it.

  • Impeccable definitive research

Start w WM journey or the World Class Wrestling series. The research Jack does, and his ability to tie that research together to form a clear story for the audience consistently amazes me. I’ve learned volumes from listening, and Jack, who clearly had great teachers in his life, anticipates things that muddle a fan’s understanding and clarifies them. JP makes me laugh out loud at least twice an episode and smile involuntarily 100 times an episode. I’ve never met these guys, but they talented, u... more

  • The Deepest Divers

At first, the incessant laughter turned me off.. but then I decided I can’t penalize these guys for enjoying themselves. Their deep dive on the career of Terry Funk in Japan got me hooked on TLF. Nobody does a better job of covering their subject than JP & Jack. If AEW is for the modern wrestling “sickos” then TLF is definitely “that cast” for the lapsed sickos. Like Meltzer reviewing a Tokyo Dome match, TLF is a ***** rating every time.

The Complete Hulk Hogan | An Interview with Tito Santana
Q: What was the process of preparing for a match with Hogan and how were spots chosen?
The setup involved a fixed finish from management, followed by in-ring collaboration between Santana and Hogan to craft the rest of the match, with emphasis on selling, pacing, and crowd engagement.
The Complete Hulk Hogan | An Interview with Tito Santana
Q: How did the finishing sequences get built on match nights?
Finish was set by the agents, but the in-ring flow was largely improvised based on crowd reaction and guidance from seasoned workers like Mr. Fuji, who emphasized timing and crowd response.
The Complete Hulk Hogan | An Interview with Tito Santana
Q: Why did Vince Senior plug Hogan in with you in 1980?
Santana explains that Hogan was still young and the company saw potential in pairing him with established stars; the dynamic in New York, with Finances and trainers, helped Hogan grow, and Vince Sr. pushed him in a high-profile way to accelerate his rise.
Ep. 442: The Complete Hulk Hogan | Georgia (Post Script, feat. Les Thatcher)
Q: Why would Hogan move between New York and Knoxville in late 1979 instead of staying in New York after starting there?
Thatcher hints at business conflicts, money, and booking strategies rather than a simple geographic move; the era's handshake deals and evolving contracts allowed for such moves depending on the promoter's needs and Hogan's demands or opportunities.
Ep. 442: The Complete Hulk Hogan | Georgia (Post Script, feat. Les Thatcher)
Q: What was the dynamic around the 'two blondes' on Georgia TV, and how did that affect Hogan's push?
Barnett preferred the veteran, more established talent for the top spots on Georgia TV during the period, which influenced which wrestler got the main events and how Hogan (as Sterling Golden/Hulk Hogan) was positioned in the short-term—creating a strategic push that would later contribute to his big break.
