  • Two Good Minds

I know both of these gentlemen and hold them both in highest respect. I could sit around and listen to them all day. I am also a big fan of Axios and the Economist. This subject matter, critical evaluation of news sources and distinguishing truth from opinion is crucial to our survival as a society.

  • Great perspective

Victor Kubik and his wife Beverly are honest, intelligent, hardworking people who have done much good. Mr. Kubik’s parents were Ukrainian refugees, he speaks Ukrainian, and he has been doing charitable work there starting many years before most Americans knew anything about Ukraine except for the Chernobyl disaster. Their Lifenets charity does small, life changing projects around the world.

The recent Andy Lee interview on money management was especially wise.

Howard Davis: AI, Logic, and the Origin of the Human Mind
Q: Can evolution be reconciled with AI's capabilities, or does AI challenge evolutionary theory?
The discussion leans toward the position that AI challenges evolution, arguing that the complexity and meaning in information imply a non-random origin.
Howard Davis: AI, Logic, and the Origin of the Human Mind
Q: How does information theory relate to the claim that randomness cannot create meaningful information?
Shannon's information theory is cited to differentiate random information (noise) from meaningful information (ordered, purposeful information) produced by a mind.
Howard Davis: AI, Logic, and the Origin of the Human Mind
Q: What are the logic rules that underpin AI, and why do they matter for understanding human intelligence?
The guest explains that AI runs on explicit logic rules, and these rules reveal gaps in evolutionary explanations, arguing that rational, non-random processes govern intelligence.
Natasha Teague: 40 years after living nearby Chernobyl catastrophe and more...
Q: Tell us what you remember about that night when the plume passed over.
Natasha describes the immediate confusion, the decision to evacuate with her family, and the fear for her son as they fled toward the east, realizing only later the scale of the danger.
