  • Great Content. A lot of fun.

I'm not going to tell you that I love every podcast offered by The Incomparable, but there are so darned many of them I enjoy a bunch on a regular basis. Biff! is superhero fun, Total Party Kill is a D&D blast, and Random Trek gives me comfort in these Trek-less times. The mothership show is usually interesting and another favorite is Rocket Surgery, which has hilariously introduced me to "Cool Cat Saves the Kids" and other bargain basement gems (John Carradine Lives! (he doesn’t)). Check out th... more

  • So many great shows, such good sound production

This feed is full of so many good shows! There is sure to be something for everyone who likes to listen to geeky smart people talking and laughing about life, tech, movies, TV shows, books, Dr Who, etc. It’s not rude or crass or gross. Fast-paced and brilliant.

PS Actually a few of the speakers are recorded a rather low and I have to sit there changing the volume up for them and down for everyone else. So people are just soft-spoken and thoughtful and I want to hear them too!

We Contain Multitudes 9: Deanna Raybourn - The Bonne Vivante
Q: How do you use tarot in your writing process for characters?
She describes character spreads, using a card to represent a character, and matching cards to traits or arcs, and even assigning zodiac signs to predict reactions, turning tarot into a playable method for plotting and developing dynamic relationships.
We Contain Multitudes 9: Deanna Raybourn - The Bonne Vivante
Q: What got you more serious about tarot three or four years ago?
Raybourn explains it began with a practical need to write a scene that included tarot, which led her to explore decks beyond the Visconti-Sforza, attend workshops, and begin collecting, ultimately treating tarot as a creative and self-knowledge tool.
Vulcan Hello 115: "300th Night" (Starfleet Academy s1e9)
Q: What did you think of this episode?
They discuss it as a strong blend of character drama and classic Star Trek action, praising the tension, the pacing, and the set pieces, while noting some earlier season setups finally paying off and a finale tease that promises high stakes.
We Contain Multitudes 7: Grant Stovel - The Keeper of the Beats
Q: Are there certain genres that are easier to learn the drum parts to than other genres?
Listen to some really approachable R&B or rock music, as the drumming is often simpler and more prominent.
