The Huddle Breakdown is a podcast focusing on all things Celtic FC. This is not your regular fan-run podcast though, we combine analysis with statistics to provide a proper deep-dive into the performances of the team. I don’t always agree with the perspectives of those involved in the podcast, but that’s part of the enjoyment. It isn’t an echo-chamber of opinion around Celtic and their performances, and it looks to strip away some of the emotion and offer a data-forward approach in the analy... more

Hi HB team. Don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but you need to get more reliable content out. We love your work but you’re losing audience by being so unreliable. Hopefully you can get it sorted.

Celtic vs LASK Scouting Special: An Austrian Expert Tells Us Exactly What We're Facing
Q: Where is LASK at and how nervous should we be going into this tie?
Tom explains LASK's recent revival under Kühbauer, their flexible approach, and the ways they can compete with a traditional European power like Celtic, while noting gaps in European pedigree and their advantage in physical, set-piece scenarios.
Celtic Transfer Analysis: How Do Duran, Ox & Iheanacho Fit?
Q: Did you garner anything from your audience that would be helpful?
Quinny described how highlights and fan input from live streams helped shape initial impressions, while noting that the game itself was not overly revealing but still offered useful pointers for early-season assessment.
Celtic Manager Search, Analytics vs. Culture, and SPFL Title Run-In Preview
Q: Tony asks, do you have any notion of the life of investment required to bring our recruitment process up to competent? Can you imagine competence? Or ideally, elite level? And do you have any examples of good people the club could recruit to these positions?
The consensus is that it's more about the right people and the organizational structure than simply throwing money at it, with emphasis on coordinated processes and intelligent collaboration between analysts, scouts, and decision-makers.
The Economics of Match-Fixing, Asian Betting Markets & Football Governance with Dr. David Forrest - THE HUDDLE BREAKDOWN INTERVIEW
Q: What makes European football distinct from American sport in terms of economics and competition?
He notes that European football blends competition with revenue-driven incentives, including promotion/relegation, ownership structures, and the unique balance between profit motives and sporting success.
The Economics of Match-Fixing, Asian Betting Markets & Football Governance with Dr. David Forrest - THE HUDDLE BREAKDOWN INTERVIEW
Q: Does economics and ethics make very bad bedfellows to discuss, and what's your view on that?
The guest explains that economists study behavior that may be ethical or not, and that sport often involves actors whose incentives push against pure ethics, yet sport should be analyzed with an eye toward how incentives and structures shape outcomes.
