Russo should be hospitalized. Here’s an idea. Sprinkle a little reality on it, just for taste.

  • What happened to this show

I listened weekly for a long time then Patrick left. I still don’t know what happened to him. The next cohost wasn’t great but then he was gone. Whoever the new lady is seems pleasant but not intelligent. The show has always been a way for Gianni to boost his ego but now it somehow has gotten worse.

The Iceman: A Legend in His Own Mind (Rebroadcast)
Q: Why do audiences remain fascinated by figures like Kuklinski despite questionable credibility?
The hosts attribute it to storytelling value, where larger-than-life personalities, dramatic methods, and the aura of danger create compelling narratives that endure beyond factual accuracy.
The Iceman: A Legend in His Own Mind (Rebroadcast)
Q: How did the HBO special influence public perception of Kuklinski?
They note that the HBO interview and documentary framing amplified the myth of the Iceman, making him seem more credible and infamous, even as some investigators questioned the veracity or completeness of his confessions.
The Iceman: A Legend in His Own Mind (Rebroadcast)
Q: What was Kuklinski's stated role as a hitman and how credible are those claims?
The guest and hosts discuss that Kuklinski claimed extensive mob hitman activity, but critics argue that many of his admissions were uncorroborated, often relying on his own testimony or limited evidence, casting doubt on the total scope of his crimes.
Gunfight on Troutman Street: The Gang Who Couldn’t Think Straight (Rebroadcast)
Q: What was Colombo's reputation like after he turned on Bonanno and helped reconfigure the Five Families?
Colombo's move to side with the Gambino faction against Bonanno earned him notoriety as a strategic, albeit controversial, player who helped reshape the power structure; he was seen as both influential and pivotal to the reorganization that eventually contributed to Russo's life intersecting with cinema history, including The Godfather's backstory.
Tommy Bilotti: Loyalty Cost Him His Life (Rebroadcast)
Q: What was the most impactful learning from Tommy Bilotti's era for understanding mob dynamics today?
The most impactful insight is that loyalty, money, and fear drove decisions, often leading to brutal outcomes when power structures were challenged, and that public exposure through media and law enforcement accelerated shifts in how organized crime operated.
